2024 GFM Updates:
December 4th, 2024by Operation Olive Branch, Organizer
Hello All,
We’re excited to share some wonderful updates from the OOB x Pal Family Encampment! Thanks to your continued generosity and support and our phenomenal partners on the ground, significant strides have been made in improving the lives of the families we serve.
Camp Elections
For the first time, camp elections were held. This was a powerful moment for the families, centering their voices in choosing community leaders who will represent their needs and help shape the future of the encampment. It’s a step toward fostering autonomy, leadership, and community within the camp.
Pajama & Coat Distribution
This week, with the help of the Zakat, cozy pajamas and winter coats were distributed to the children in the camp! Seeing their smiles as they received warm, new clothing was a beautiful reminder of why we do this work. These small acts of kindness provide comfort and warmth during unpredictable and unprecedented times.
️ Building a Storage Unit for Sustainability
There was also the buying and building of a storage unit to securely store essential supplies for the camp. This is a critical step toward making the camp more sustainable, allowing us to better manage and distribute aid as efficiently as possible. With this storage unit, vital items like blankets, food, and clothing, can be stockpiled, ensuring the community’s needs are met.
As the camp continues to grow and improve, your support remains invaluable. Every donation means the camp is closer to creating a sustainable, dignified, and empowered community for these families.
Thank you for standing with us in this mission. This could not be done without all of you and the amazing partners on the ground.

Hello All,
We wanted to share an update on our recent activities. We are deeply grateful to our incredible partners on the ground, who risk their lives to provide critical aid, and to all of you. Without your solidarity, we couldn’t fund our Direct Aid Initiatives. Thank you sincerely for your support.
Here’s a breakdown of the funds sent to Gaza for November and how they’ve been allocated. Due to closed borders and limited aid access, the cost of essentials has surged: food prices by 176%, formula by 150%, and diapers by 708%. To put this in perspective, a $20 pack of diapers could now cost up to $161.60. We buy in bulk to secure better pricing, but these price hikes impact our expenses significantly.
• Total funds sent for November: $101,712
• Diapers: $20,016 for 600 packs
• Formula: $21,684 for 1,300 cans
• Storage room construction: $2,354.18
• Food baskets: $7,300 for 100 baskets
• Veggie baskets: $5,100 for 100 baskets
• Hygiene kits: $4,500 for 100 kits
• Friday Camp Meal by Amani: $1,200
• Blankets: $655 for families moving into the camp
• Fuel for deliveries: $500 for Amani’s transport
• Partner support & delivery staff payment: $2,000
• Petty cash for essentials: $1,000 for Amani
• Additional water tank construction: $2,644.86
• Solar technician: $349.44
• Bus transport: $403.20
• Security: $134.40
• Footwear (crocs) for camp residents: $3,766
• Petty cash: $1,000 to Amani for essential supplies for families
• Formula: $2,677 to Amani
We remain committed to supporting the people in Palestine as long as our community stands with us. Thank you for your ongoing solidarity, and we’ll update you again soon.

Hello Everyone,
We at Operation Olive Branch (OOB) wanted to share an update on the progress of our direct aid initiatives. But before we dive in, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to all of you and to our partners on the ground who risk their lives daily. None of this would be possible without your support, so thank you.
Here’s what we’ve accomplished last month in September:
•We sent $6,800 to our partner, Dr. Zayn Khalil, to deliver and distribute diapers, formula, and vitamins to families in need through our Milk Project.
•We provided $14,626 to our partner, Amani, to distribute food aid baskets, purchase and distribute diapers and formula, and supply hygiene kits to families in need.
•We allocated $14,880 to our partners at Pal Humanity for purchasing containers for the school under construction, as well as for diapers to be distributed at the Family Encampment.
•All amount includes the cashing fee required to transfer funds into Gaza•
Here’s what we’ve accomplished this month in October:
• We sent $10,594 to our partner Amani to distribute diapers and formula to families in need, particularly as market prices soar. Additionally, we provided $5,500 for Amani to source and purchase blankets for distribution at the OOB x Pal Camp. With winter approaching, it’s crucial that families are prepared. We also sent $3,650 for food baskets to support families who cannot afford to buy their own food due to skyrocketing prices.
• Our partners at Pal.Humanity received $19,322.20 to help sustain the camp. These funds supported winterization efforts—such as providing sandbags for tent elevation, trenching, and tarping—as well as paying the land rent through 2025. We also used these funds to distribute hygiene kits and pay camp staff (cleaners, security, and our videographer).
• We sent $2,889.76 to provide 4 unique and nutritious Friday Tekia meals at the Encampment, along with $5,314 for formula distribution.
•All amounts include the fee required to transfer cash into Gaza.•
We remain committed to doing everything we can, and it’s all thanks to your continued support.

As the humanitarian crisis in Gaza deepens, your unwavering support has become more essential than ever. With winter closing in and humanitarian corridors still shut, the people of Gaza face an even graver struggle for survival. The basic necessities of life—shelter, warmth, food, and medical care—are now more scarce than they were last October. Families are enduring unimaginable hardships, and together, we must act swiftly to bring them the relief they so desperately need.
Winter in Gaza
The bitter cold months ahead will turn an already dire situation into a fight for survival, particularly for those without proper shelter. Families need warmth, protection, and vital resources to make it through. Our immediate goal is to ensure that they have what they need to survive this harsh season.
Limited Access to Aid
With humanitarian corridors remaining closed, access to critical supplies is severely restricted. But our encampment is designed to be a lifeline. They provide access to clean water, food, electricity, WiFi, and essential medical services. These camps are a beacon of hope for families cut off from aid, providing them with the means to endure.
Sustainable Living
The Operation Olive Branch x Pal. Humanity camp is built with care, adhering to international standards for sanitation while respecting the dignity and cultural values of the people we serve. From water-efficient bidets to sustainable latrine systems that protect groundwater, we are committed to creating safe, simple, and sustainable living environments that preserve health and honor tradition.
Looking Ahead: Expanding Aid Delivery
Our vision for the future is clear. With your support, we will not only expand and winterize the existing camp but also work to establish multiple encampments across Gaza. Together with our partners at, we are streamlining aid delivery, ensuring it reaches those who need it most—quickly, efficiently, and with care.
In these times of unprecedented crisis, we are deeply grateful for your compassion and solidarity. Every donation, every gesture of support, helps us bring vital aid to families in desperate need.
Thank you for standing with the people of Gaza and for your continued commitment to justice and humanity.

Hello everyone,
We wanted to take the opportunity to provide a more detailed update on the progress and activities at the Family Encampment, as well as the various direct aid initiatives we’ve been working on. We deeply appreciate your continued support, and it's because of this incredible community that we're able to make a tangible difference in the lives of so many.
First and foremost, a huge thank you to everyone who has contributed, whether through donations, volunteering, or spreading the word. Your dedication and compassion keep us going, and we are beyond grateful for the strong network of individuals who stand with us and the families we serve.
Now, to share some recent developments:
- Pal.Humanity, one of our close partners, was able to source and distribute mattresses to families in the camp. This is a significant accomplishment, as many families had been sleeping on hard surfaces without adequate bedding. These mattresses provide a much-needed level of comfort and make the living conditions in the camp just a bit more bearable, especially for families with young children and the elderly.
- We were thrilled to welcome the Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF) to the camp recently. They came to distribute essential supplies like diapers and baby formula, which are critical for the health and well-being of infants and toddlers. The importance of these supplies cannot be overstated, especially given the ongoing shortages and the difficulties families face in accessing even the most basic necessities. PCRF’s efforts have brought relief to many struggling parents in the camp.
- Amani from Amani’s Kitchen continues to be a lifeline for the families. She visited the camp again, this time with food aid baskets, which were distributed to families in need. These baskets contained staples and nutritious items that will help sustain the families for the coming weeks. Amani’s consistent commitment to feeding and supporting displaced individuals through her weekly visits is both inspiring and deeply impactful. She not only provides food but also brings hope and a sense of care to those who need it most.
Both Amani and Zayn delivered formula and diapers to those outside of the encampment and Amani also continues delivering food and hygiene kits from Deir Al Ballah to Khan Younis through your support.
- In the midst of all these challenges, there have been moments of joy, particularly for the children in the camp. Recently, they took part in a lively game of musical chairs, filling the air with laughter and excitement. These moments, though brief, are a reminder of the resilience of the human spirit, especially in children, who continue to find ways to play and smile despite the adversity surrounding them.
We are constantly humbled by the strength and perseverance of the families in the camp, and it is through your continued support that we’re able to provide them with these essential resources. We have more work ahead of us, and we are determined to keep pushing forward, hand-in-hand with all of you.
Thank you again for standing with us and for your generosity in helping us sustain these vital efforts. We look forward to updating you on future developments and sharing more stories of hope and resilience from the Family Encampment.
P.S
It is incredibly sad that we let you all know Amani lost her mother. Please support her personal campaign and offer your condolences

We are endlessly grateful to our [email redacted]alout for creating and dispersing aid baskets to families who need it.
These baskets come with basic living necessities that are, unfortunately, sold at exorbitant prices on the market.
Operation Olive Branch is committed to ensuring Amani has the funds to continue to create and disperse these baskets to those who need them.
Please continue to support us so that we can help even more families, and make sure you check out Amani (@amani.alkahlout) on Instagram to stay up to date on what she’s doing.
If you have extra funds, please also support Amani’s personal campaign. She is doing phenomenal work.

On behalf of Operation Olive Branch (OOB), we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, and UNRWA for their generous contribution of polio vaccines to the children at the OOB and Pal Humanity Encampment, provided through the Palestinian Ministry of Health. We are truly thankful for this vital support.
We encourage everyone to continue supporting our encampment and these outstanding organizations so that we can carry on providing essential aid to those who need it most.
Thank you!

Update:
Hello everyone!
We have some incredible updates to share with you. Thanks to your unwavering support, we were able to provide hot meals to families in the camp this past week, including pasta, chicken, and rice.
In collaboration with PCRF, @pal.humanity, and @operationolivebranch, we also distributed essential outerwear, hygiene baskets, and formula to the families. As winter approaches, we will need to ensure we are able to provide essential cold weather supplies.
None of this would be possible without your generosity. We are deeply grateful, and with your continued support, we can achieve even more.

**URGENT!!!**
We are not asking for money. We are asking you to bear witness as evacuation orders threaten our camp.
Below is a video of Haya in her tent, listening to gunfire while trying to keep her children calm. There’s also footage of Dr. Sanad surrounded by gunfire, unable to reach our camp. You all know Dr. Sanad—he works for World Central Kitchen, and his family runs our Milk Project.
You’ll also see Daneia and Muhammad. Today is Muhammad’s birthday, and they can’t even celebrate in peace.
Please visit these families' Instagram accounts and show your support. Let them know they are not just numbers.
Our camp can be rebuilt and replaced. The lives of these families cannot.

Hey everyone!
Thank you so much for supporting us so far. We are immensely grateful to you.
Thanks to your contributions, we've been able to add shadowbans (tarps) to our encampment in collaboration with Pal Humanity, and we now have lights!
Additionally, Dr. Zayn's Milk Project has helped 23 families by delivering 3 months worth of formula, 2 packs of diapers, and vitamins. With your continued support, we can assist even more families in accessing this lifesaving aid. Each delivery costs $575, covering diapers, formula, vitamins (if needed), transportation, and labor for those risking their lives to make these deliveries.
Please gift what you can and encourage your favorite brands, celebrities, and influencers to sponsor deliveries so we can continue to help.
We will keep helping those in need with your generous support. Thank you!

Hello and Happy Sunday, everyone!
Amani, one of our incredible partners, delivered fresh vegetables and fruits to the camp yesterday. We are deeply grateful for all that she does.
Please consider supporting Amani’s individual campaign as well. In addition to delivering fresh produce, she runs Amani’s Kitchen, an initiative that feeds hundreds of displaced and food-insecure individuals. She also provides aid baskets with food and vitamins to families in need. Despite her remarkable efforts, Amani has only raised $1,000 toward her evacuation. Let’s show our appreciation for Amani by contributing what we can.
Here is her Linktree, which includes her personal GoFundMe, Instagram, and TikTok: https://linktr.ee/amani.alkahlout?utm_source=linktree_profile_share&ltsid=cb43e99d-39d8-4c04-87f1-05d521b1a11e
Thank you all for your support and love. We are endlessly grateful.

Hello All!
First and foremost, we want to thank every single one of you for your amazing contributions. You all went above and beyond, and we will never be able to adequately express how grateful we all are.
That being said; at OOB we are committed to radical transparency and so, as we allow donations again, we want to give an update to past, current, and future donors.
The biggest and most exciting update is that Operation Olive Branch in collaboration with Pal Humanity are building, and soon finalizing, an Encampment for families in Gaza that will provide shelter, food, water, on site medical help, as well as several other necessities. In total, the Encampment should house about 300 people (30 families).
We have currently utilized about $117,000 of your support to build the camp, and we estimate monthly maintenance could be as high as $100 per person, which is $1,000 per tent or $30k a month total.
From there, in order to keep the camp running it will cost about $30k total monthly.
Along with the exciting news of the Encampment, Pal Humanity has opened 2 more Caravans and has continued to help many patients, as well as partnered with UNRWA. Amani has diligently continued to feed dozens upon dozens of Gazans with her food project.
Thank you all so much, again. We couldn’t do any of this without you all, and we will need you all to keep the projects running and, hopefully in time, expand to more projects.

Hello all,
We only asked you for $60,000, and y’all dropped about $300k so we are temporarily disabling donations while we get all funds distributed! Thank you for your mind blowing support!
Hold tight for BIG news on Phase 2: Coming Soon! We will be posting a new update in the next few days for transparency on our second round of aid distribution.
Partner Updates:
Bahrain Medical Aid will not be included in this fundraiser at any point, per GFM.
Introducing our new partner The Sameer Project who is providing much needed tents directly to our families. We have already sent them $49,000.

OOB has temporarily removed Bahrain Medical Aid as a Partner in this fundraiser until we can finalize vetting this nonprofit through GFM. Please continue to donate to them directly as they are actively supporting the OOB Perinatal Project as well as their broader community. They are line 15 on our Mutual Aid Tab.
