Could you be a member?
Members do need to be 18 or over, and to have at least some experience of church music. So long as members understand that the OUCC exists to sing religious services following the Choral tradition maintained in Britain's (Anglican) Cathedrals, then they can belong to a church, chapel, school, college, university or secular choir of any denomination. Prospective members will be expected to be good sight-readers and able to learn the music before the full choir meets.
A member applying for a place on any tour may bring one non-singing partner, relative, or friend of 18 years, or over, providing there is space in the accommodation we use.
Members need to be independently mobile. There may be a 10-20 minute walk between the hotel and cathedral; it is very rare that cathedrals have parking space available. In many places there are steps involved and uneven floors in the cathedral. Details are usually given in the tour information.
Transport
Choir members are responsible for making their own travel arrangements.
How to join
Contact the Administrator and ask for your details to be added to the mailing list. Include a brief description of your singing experience and your preferred voice part. You will then receive Tour Invitations and Newsletters as and when they are issued.
There is no subsription or membership fee. The Tour invitations specify the costs for the tours (accommodation, music, shared costs) which may vary from tour to tour.
