OUR TOOLKIT FOR HRE THROUGH THE POWER OF STORYTELLING AND COMEDY IS FINALLY OUT!
Laughter Meets Justice: A Toolkit for Human Rights Education through Comedy
What happens when the seriousness of human rights education meets the lightheartedness of stand-up comedy? The answer lies in the “Erasmus+ Open Mic: Raising Awareness of Human Rights” training course, which has resulted in a one-of-a-kind toolkit designed to engage youth through humor.
This resource was developed as part of the “Erasmus+ Open Mic: Raising Awareness of Human Rights” training course, funded by the Erasmus+ program and approved by the Lithuanian National Agency. Held in Lithuania in June 2024, the course brought together 24 participants from six countries—Lithuania, Greece, Poland, Portugal, Italy, and Latvia—to explore the creative potential of comedy in addressing human rights topics like freedom of speech, equality, and inclusion.

Why Comedy?
Comedy breaks down barriers, fosters understanding, and makes complex issues relatable. Often perceived as pure entertainment, it can also be a powerful medium for highlighting injustices, challenging stereotypes, and inspiring action. The activities and techniques presented in this toolkit demonstrate how humor can effectively engage young audiences while raising awareness about serious topics.
