OpenLine is a Chrome extension made by Foliary Studio. It lets you record short voice messages and play them into a call that runs in a browser tab. This policy explains what the extension does with your information.
OpenLine does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. Everything stays on your own computer.
Your recordings and their titles are saved only in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) on your computer.
Your settings (loudness, options, window position) and the list of websites where you turned OpenLine on are saved in Chrome's local extension storage on your computer.
None of this is sent to the developer or to any third party. OpenLine has no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no advertising.
OpenLine uses your microphone only when you press Record, to create a message. The recording is saved locally as described above.
During a call, OpenLine does not record or listen to your conversation. When you play a message, it briefly mixes the message with your microphone in the call's outgoing audio, then switches back to your normal microphone when the message ends. This happens entirely inside your browser.
OpenLine runs only on websites you explicitly turn on with "Enable on this site". On those sites it only attaches to the page's call audio so your messages can be played into the call. It does not read, collect or transmit page content, form data or browsing history. You can turn it off for any site at any time.
You can delete any message from within the extension. Removing the extension from Chrome deletes all recordings and settings stored by it.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
