Make sure to click on "Add Julia to path"
Download Visual Studio Code - Mac, Linux, Windows
Install the following VSCode Extensions (click on the icon on the left edge of VSCode with the three squares and another flying away)
Openflight-sim/OPENFLIGHT: Educational Flight Simulator
If you added Julia to path, you can click on
...\✈_OPENFLIGHT\OpenFlight.jl
to run the code. This will open a terminal that will take care of the installation of the "packages" and will start the program in the web browser. To stop the program, close the terminal.
Alternatively, you can open in VSCode the folder where you downloaded the GitHub code and Select the OpenFlight.jl file and
Option 1: Select all the code in the file (Ctrl+A) and then execute it (Shift+Enter)
Option 2: Click on the "▶" icon on the top right of VSCode
In these cases, to stop the execution click on the TERMINAL (lower window in VSCode) and click "Ctrl+c" and "Ctrl+x" until the program stops. Then click on "Ctrl+D" to stop the Julia interpreter so that no variables remain in memory for the next execution (this is not strictly necessary but it's the simplest way to guarantee that).
