Hello, my name is Amber Frazier, and I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC). Throughout life's journey, there are countless ups and downs, and it can often feel like the ups are few and far between. Sometimes, life's challenges may cause you to question your worth, the purpose of your existence, and the seemingly meaningless routine you find yourself caught in each day.
Although challenging, I have faced my share of trials and experiences that have shaped me into who I am today. These experiences have inspired me to approach therapy with compassion and collaboration to help clients discover self-awareness and inner peace. In my practice, I provide a safe and non-judgmental environment where clients can openly discuss their painful experiences as they begin their healing journey.
I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I have extensive experience assisting clients who struggle with trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, attachment issues, foster care or adoption concerns, substance abuse problems, and relationship difficulties. I embrace a sex-positive attitude while implementing evidence-based approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness Therapy,
and Play Therapy during sessions.
Thank you for considering me as your counselor; I look forward to helping you navigate life's challenges and supporting your personal growth.

Hi, my name is Abby and I am a counseling intern here at Open Book under the supervision of Kathy Bitner. Life circumstances can often leave us feeling isolated, weighed down, or trapped. Whatever challenges you are facing, it's important to know that you aren't alone. Therapy is a brave first step towards finding healing and hope.
I understand it can be intimidating being vulnerable about life's hardships. With this in mind, I value creating an authentic and safe place for you to address the things weighing you down. You will be seen and heard without any judgement. Through connection there is healing.
Drawing from my own personal experiences with tough life transitions, rocky relationships, trauma, and a broken home, I am eager to help people through the hardships they are experiencing. As a counseling intern and a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling student at Liberty University, I am equipped and well supported to come alongside you and walk with you through this journey.
I am excited to meet you and hear your story!
Amanda Lloyd, an Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor (ACMHC) practicing at Open Book Counseling.
Amanda shared "Life can present us with challenging experiences - issues with family, relationships, loss, shame, grief, transitioning beliefs, substance abuse, unhealed emotional wounds, and self-doubt - that may feel too overwhelming to face alone. I firmly believe that each of us possesses the inner knowledge and strength to find solutions to life's challenges and to uncover personal growth and meaning. Therapy is one way we can tap into this innate power and guide us towards a rich and meaningful life."
Amanda has a deep desire to understand the human experience and feels honored and humbled to walk alongside individuals as they heal from pain and discover new and healthy ways of living. She finds meaning in individual stories and marvels at both the wonderful and tragic experiences of life and our capacity to endure, evolve, and thrive. She grew up being taught that we can create happiness on purpose, and has made it her career to help others find their happiness.
Amanda states "In counseling, it is important to me that each session be person-centered and that I use a holistic approach to healing. I am trained in and utilize Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I am LGBTQ informed, find relevance in feminist theory, and support sex-positive education.
I am committed to offering a safe space for all my clients by meeting you where you are right now, in a supportive and judgment-free environment, and walking with you on your journey of healing and self-discovery.
