Open Arms started as a dream—an unwavering commitment to advocating for the underprivileged and ensuring that no one is left behind when it comes to essential healthcare knowledge. Raavi, Eva, and Saanvi were up one night, stuck on a basic mission for our non profit, We wanted to make an impact, but on what?
But in our brainstorming, we looked deeper into our communities, we recognized a pattern: those living in underprivileged conditions often lacked fundamental knowledge about healthcare. Many were unaware of basic first aid, common disorders, and what to do in emergency situations. Others struggled with basic hygiene, and many women lacked access to essential menstrual products.
But the issue didn’t stop there. Even in well-off communities like Mountain House, where access to medical care is not a primary concern, we discovered a persistent lack of health awareness. Misconceptions, stigma, and gaps in education prevented individuals from fully understanding their own mental and physical health. This knowledge gap affects everyone, regardless of background or status.
At Open Arms, we refuse to accept this as the norm. We firmly believe that health education is not a privilege—it is a right. Every person, regardless of their situation, deserves access to reliable health information.
That is why we launched the Open Arms Initiative—a movement dedicated to empowering individuals with the knowledge they need to take control of their health. Through social media awareness campaigns, workshops, programs, and accessible resources, we are committed to diversify and de-stigmatize health education. From mental health awareness and nutrition to reproductive health and first-aid training, our initiative covers a broad spectrum of topics that impact people’s daily lives.
We hope for a future where no one is left in the dark about their own health. A future where knowledge saves lives, breaks down barriers, and fosters a healthier, more informed society. This is just the beginning—Open Arms is here to make a lasting impact, and we invite you to be a part of this journey.
Together, we can create a better tomorrow, where everyone, everywhere, has the knowledge they deserve.
