We're glad someone is openly developing improvements to the homebrew scene. We don't use it, we personally don't see a need for it. But we're here to help our users and we feel they can best be served by the developers of the application than us.

I have the file in a folder labelled "apps" on my USB which is formatted to fat32, I can see that the homebrew channel recognises it when I press 1 so the ports are fine but I don't see the app. what should I do?

The Open Shop Channel is a platform where users can download and install homebrew apps for their Wii console. This channel serves as a revival project for an older application Homebrew Browser. It allows users to browse and download various applications and games that have been developed independently by the community, rather than officially by Nintendo. The channel is a great way for users to expand the capabilities of their Wii console and gain access to a wider range of content.

The Open Shop Channel was launched in March 2018 with the goal of reviving the Wii Shop Channel before its planned shut down. Initially, the project aimed to create a replacement for the Wii Shop Channel, but over time, the focus shifted towards creating a general open-source repository of apps. The channel utilizes the Homebrew Browser and OSCDL to access the content, as well as a public and open API that is planned to be released in the future.

Set up the Shop channel to manage how your Shop Store displays to customers in the Shop app, and manage your shopping settings. Using the Shop channel allows you to manage settings that help improve your customers' shopping experience in the Shop app.

If your store meets the eligibility requirements in the Shop Merchant Guidelines, and you have the Sell with Shop settings activated in the Shop channel, then your customers can discover your Shop Store and the products in your store from the Search tab in the Shop app.

You can use the Shop channel to view your Shop Store as it displays to Shop app users. You can also edit your brand assets, store information, and change the order in which product collections display in your Shop Store.

The Shop channel automatically syncs with your online store's brand assets to display certain information in Shop such as your logo, cover image, store background, store description, and store policies. You can update what displays in Shop by changing your settings in the Shop channel.

In the UK anyone can apply for a broadcasting licence on Freeview. You have Challenge, quiz shows. sky Arts. Smithsonian and PBS America. My favourite was the Horror channel. Drama, which showed Harrow and Doctor Doctor and many more. Now that 9 has Stan/sports and 10 has P+ it might be good to have a shake up.

I would like to know who actually sits down and watches these shopping channels. I set up my tv so it keeps these and duplicated channels, it aint hard. Do the same with racing tv, etc. I know of on one who watches them.

If you just want an excuse to hear that catchy shop music again, there is a Chrome extension that adds songs from the Wii Shop Channel, 3DS eShop, and DSi shop to marketplaces like eBay, Amazon, and more.

Before the WiiConnect24 service was discontinued, there were three free Channels offered worldwide: the Everybody Votes Channel, the Check Mii Out Channel (Mii Contest Channel in Europe), and the Nintendo Channel. An update to the Photo Channel (Photo Channel 1.1) is also available, if not preinstalled. A fourth Channel, the Internet Channel, a web browser based on Opera, was available worldwide originally for 500 Wii Points but was free as of September 1, 2009. Anyone who paid the 500 Wii Points for the Internet Channel has been refunded. There were also two exclusive free Japanese channels: the Television Friend Channel, which provides channel listing and recording reminder features, and the Digicam Print Channel, which allows users to order business cards and photo albums using photos stored on SD cards or the Photo Channel. Previously, a preview channel for Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was available for free in the fall of 2007 for North America and PAL regions before it was removed from the Wii Shop Channel several months after the game's launch. In North America and Europe, the Netflix channel was available in the Wii Channels section, along with Crunchyroll.

Software downloaded from the Wii Shop Channel is saved onto the Wii console's internal memory. After a download is complete, the new software appears on the Wii Menu as a channel. Software can be copied to SD cards or re-downloaded for free. Wii consoles with system software version 4.0 can download software directly to SD cards.[18]

On December 10, 2007, a gift feature was added to the Wii Shop Channel, allowing users to purchase and send games and channels to others as gifts. The receiving user was given the option to download or reject the gift upon opening the Wii Shop Channel, with a notification being sent out to the send if it was accepted.[19] If a user already had the game or if the user did not choose to accept the gift within 45 days, then the gift expired and the Wii Points are returned to the sender.[19] The feature was region locked and incompatible with the Wii U's Nintendo eShop.

On January 30, 2019, Nintendo shut down the Wii Shop Channel and removed all WiiWare, Virtual Console games, and other Wii Channels from sale or initial download. The only exceptions are the save data update channel for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, the Wii U Transfer Tool channel (on Wii consoles), and the Wii System Transfer channel (on Wii U consoles).[25] Users can continue re-downloading any games and apps they acquired before the shutdown, and the ability to re-download previously purchased content and transfer data from a Wii to a Wii U will continue for the foreseeable future.[24] On the day of the closure, the shop's main UI was updated to show its original layout as it appeared when it was first launched back on November 19, 2006, removing the WiiWare option entirely.

Documents filed to the Australian Securities and Investment Commission show the Seven is owed almost $1 million from The Australian Shopping Network, while its parent company, South Korea-based Hyundai Home Shopping Network, is owed $12 million. The channel went into administration on August 6.

The Australian Shopping Network, which operates as Openshop, officially launched on August 1, 2019. It was established by Hyundai Home Shopping Network - a pioneer of live commerce in South Korea which wanted to explore Australia’s market potential. The channel offered viewers free express delivery on beauty, jewellery, fashion, technology, home and health products.

Sales segments from Openshop were streamed on 7Plus and on the Seven Network in major capital cities. If a person liked what they saw on television, it could be purchased through Openshop’s website or a direct sales number on the television screen.

Less than a year after Openshop launched, the company began writing to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission over concerns it was unable to compete with TVSN. Its concerns were based on TVSN lodging two exclusive dealing notifications with the ACCC in May 2020, to give it exclusive access to products for its home-shopping channel and the ability to refuse products if they appeared on a competitor’s channel before or during an appearance on its network.

Openshop said in multiple letters to the ACCC that the provisions would affect competition and make it difficult to compete against TVSN. Those concerns were also communicated to the ACCC by broadcasters including Nine Entertainment Co (owner of this masthead) and Seven. But the watchdog decided not to object to TVSN’s requests and granted the exclusive dealings provision. On July 16, the watchdog said it was satisfied the conduct would not lessen competition in the market.

As a fairly recent subscriber to the MVG channel, I was watching the latest video on Homebrew Wars when I saw the Homebrew Browser mentioned! I had pretty much forgotten about it which made me smile when I saw it :). Good to know that some users have modified the URL in the dol file so they can keep it up to date.
