Open Downloads

By default, your files are saved to your Downloads folder, a temporary folder on your Chromebook's hard drive. You can change where downloads are saved by default or select a specific folder for each download.

You can download Windows developments snapshots (MSI installers) from here (Index of /downloads/snapshots/github-actions/openvpn2/ ). Those are automatically built from commits to OpenVPN master branch and include functionality which will be available in the next release. Development snapshots are less stable than releases, so use at your own risk.

Downloading files is one of the primary uses of the Internet. You can find virtually anything online, and chances are you've been downloading files ever since you started using your computer. Your Operating System will attempt to put all of your downloads in one central location, but eventually you may have downloaded files all over your computer. Knowing how to quickly find your downloaded files can save you a lot of time and headache.

From what I understand, you are downloading a PDF using Google Chrome and the workflow is either 'Save As' or 'Save link As'.

I believe your Chrome is enabled to Always open with system viewer. When this is enabled, Chrome will automatically use the default application assigned to the file you download.

You can see this option when you download a file. As an example, download a PDF file using your Chrome browser. Google Chrome places a small notification at the bottom of the browser and when you click on it, you will see an option to deselect the 'Always open with system viewer'. See screenshot below:

After clearing that, you will start to see the notification at the bottom of the Google Chrome when downloading a file. And, this should not automatically launch the default application to open the downloaded file.

Please note that there are parts of Qt that are only provided under GPL for open source users that will require you to license your application under a GPL compatible license. It depends on how you license and distribute your product. The open source version of Qt is mainly distributed under the LGPL, version 3 and GPLv2/v3. You will need to fulfill the license obligations for these licenses when using Qt in your product.

Firstly, you have to note that all Qt open source modules are not available under LGPLv3 license. Some modules are available under GPLv3 for open source usage, and e.g. 3rd party components such as Chromium web engine are provided under LGPLv2.1.

A few modules in Qt, however, use code from 3rd party open source projects such as the Qt WebEngine is using the Chromiun project licensed under LGPLv2.1. So when using these modules, you will need to fulfill the corresponding license obligations, in case of Chromium the LGPLv2.1.

A basic operation of the OpenStreetMap API, is the 'map' request. For the relevant API documentation see: API v0.6#Retrieving map data by bounding box: GET /api/0.6/map. Furthermore, the main api allows you to download the XML of single elements and the history of each of these elements. It is dedicated to editing, not downloads. Don't use this for mass requests, because this is resource intensive. Please use Overpass API or XAPI instead.

Regardless if the Downloads folder is a simlink or not the swift code snippet should be capable to open it.It looks like that the NSWorkspace does not function properly.It does not check the app sandbox for the Downloads folder and does not ask the user for permission to access it.

Hi, so I wanted to try to use the Qt open source version, but I cannot for the life of me find the online download. I have been going around in circles for about 30 minutes and any videos I watch about it have a download button that just isn't there for me. Am I missing something? I am signed in and am set to a individual developer.

Be cautious. These PDFs can pose a security risk to your system. Double-check with the source of the doc, such as the person who sent it to you or the website you downloaded it from, to make sure the document is safe to open.

It opened! I have an Outlook mail account as well as a Protonmail email account. Outlook mail opens the attachments, but attachments sent to my protonmail account are still downloading as a safe option only. Is there a reason why that happens? Thanks

@Susja , at present there isn't a built-in method in Microsoft Edge to automatically open downloaded files as it presents a security issue. If you were to accidentally download malware and the browser were to automatically run the file, that would be bad news. Rather, Edge offers the ability for the user to choose what to do once the file is open with a prompt. Below are the steps to do so:
