I am the Administrative Assistant for the Division of Jazz Studies and the Administrative

Assistant for the Associate Dean for Artistic Administration and Operations at Oberlin College &

Conservatory. I have been employed at Oberlin College and a member of OCOPE and the OPEIU

since June 2011. During this time I have served on the Elections Committee and most recently

serving as a member of the Solidarity & Communications committee. What I appreciate most

about being a member of a union is knowing there is a collective support team that has our

best interests in the forefront of their decisions and an advocate if/when needed. My hope for

our newly formed Local 792 is to strengthen our unit, build greater support, broaden our reach,

and build lasting relationships with one another. Becoming a member of a union in 2011 was

my first experience as a union worker. However, my experience in creativity, organizational

skills, event planning, financial background, and the ability to work well with a team will

continue to prove beneficial as a Trustee on the Executive Board for our Local 792.

My hopes for Local 792 is that we become stronger and put some people in leadership that will take us to the next level and a more diverse board is most important.

I work for United Labor Agency as an employment specialist. I have been a member of the OPEIU for 3.5 years and a shop steward for over a year. As a union member, I greatly appreciate the security afforded to me in my job and the long and noble history of labor organizing I am a part of. My hopes are that the Local 792 continues to grow and strengthen its members. I have been with  the Elyria Public Library System for 34 years. My job title is library

associate in the Technical Services Dept and I have been working at our support staff facility for almost a year now. I have been with OPEIU for 26 years now formally local 17 it's great to have more members and excited to see where we are going.

Gena Reynolds

Executive Board

I currently hold one of the Executive Board positions for Local 792. I work in the main library at Oberlin College in the Preservation and Special Collections departments, helping visitors access our rare materials, and supervising the repair of the libraries' circulating collections. I have been a member of OPEIU for four years, and served on Local 502's executive board as the 2nd Vice President from 2019-2021. I appreciate that unions provide a voice for workers and allow them to have conversations with management that are difficult to facilitate without representation. I hope that Local 792 is able to provide greater support to each individual unit and that moving forward people are energized and encouraged to participate.

I am hoping to be able to be there to help my co workers with any concerns and problems they might encounter and for them to have a say and be treated fairly. My hopes and aspirations for our local is to be able to be a strong force in the state of Ohio and to be able to help more companies employees that don't have a voice to be able to join a union and to be treated fairly and have a safe working environment and fair wage. I hope this is enough. As far as skills it depends on what's needed.
