The Newly listed Executive Board will take the Oath of Office at the General Membership Meeting on Tuesday March 11, 2025 at 7pm via zoom
Julie Weir
President
OCOPE
I am part of the Administrative Assistant unit at Oberlin College, we represent the administrative assistant and paraprofessional staff. I have been in my current position in Research and Instruction in the Main library for almost 20 years, but before that I worked in Circulation and Reserve. I have been at Oberlin since 1986.
I have been a member since 1986 and have been an active board member/steward for more than 35 years. I train and show my dogs in agility, dock diving, obedience and other canine sports. I also love to hike and run in our metro, state and national parks. I also do a bit of cooking, knitting and sewing. I would like to see our local grow by organizing new units and strengthening current ones. I would like to see an active membership. I got my first union job and really knew nothing about being in a Union, I have learned over the years that a union can provide benefits, protections and a voice for workers that isn’t available without the collective action of a union and its contract.

OCOPE
Greg Solow works for the Oberlin College IT department, and has worked at the College as an OPEIU 792 member for nearly fifteen years. He enjoys spending time with his wife and his dog, and trying out new experiments in the kitchen. He looks forward to building the membership, solidarity, and positive communication of OPEIU 792 to ensure that all members feel represented regardless of workplace or role.
Julie Baker
Recording Secretary
OCOPE
I am the Administrative Assistant for the Division of Jazz Studies and the Administrative
Assistant for the Associate Dean for Artistic Administration and Operations at Oberlin College
Conservatory. I have been employed at Oberlin College and a member of OCOPE and the OPEIU
since June 2011. During this time I have served on the Elections Committee and most recently
serving as a member of the Solidarity & Communications committee. What I appreciate most about being a member of a union is knowing there is a collective support team that has our best interests in the forefront of their decisions and an advocate if/when needed.
My hope for Local 792 is to strengthen our unit, build greater support, broaden our reach,
and build lasting relationships with one another. Becoming a member of a union in 2011 was
my first experience as a union worker. However, my experience in creativity, organizational
skills, event planning, financial background, and the ability to work well with a team will
continue to prove beneficial as a Recording Secretary on the Executive Board for our Local 792.

Jamie Overstreet
Trustee
OCOPE
I am a member/steward of the Oberlin College OCOPE unit; April will be my thirteenth work and union anniversary. In my free time, I love to read, hike, travel, pet other people’s dogs, garden, and knit. My hope for our local is that we reach the full potential that has opened up since the merger. I want to see more members at meetings asking questions and giving their opinions concerning what problem areas require attention in their unit and throughout the local. I would love to see more email communication and opportunities for units to interact with each other.
Gena Reynolds
Executive Board Member
OCOPE
I currently hold one of the Executive Board positions for Local 792. I work in the main library at Oberlin College in the Preservation and Special Collections departments, helping visitors access our rare materials, and supervising the repair of the libraries' circulating collections. I have been a member of OPEIU for four years, and served on Local 502's executive board as the 2nd Vice President from 2019-2021. I appreciate that unions provide a voice for workers and allow them to have conversations with management that are difficult to facilitate without representation. I hope that Local 792 is able to provide greater support to each individual unit and that moving forward people are energized and encouraged to participate.
