We are OPEIU Local 792.
This unit of the Office and Professional Employees International Union was formed by the merging of several Northeast Ohio locals in the last months of 2021. Now consisting of over 600 employees, it is dedicated to representing the interests of its members in all respects, and ensuring that they are afforded dignity in their workplace.
Office and Professional Employees International Union was chartered in 1945 and with more than 104,000 members (representing 110,000 employees) strong, we’re one of the larger unions of the AFL-CIO. OPEIU has locals in every state, Puerto Rico and Canada.

ARTICLE 13 Finances
(a.) The regular dues of the membership of OPEIU Local 792 shall be $28 -$44 a month for bargaining units covered by the former Local 17; 1.5% of monthly wages for bargaining units covered by the former Local 19 and $37.50 for bargaining units covered by the former Local 502. The Finance Committee shall meet to develop a budget to reflect the goals of this newly merged local within sixty (60) days of ratification of these Bylaws and the Merger Agreement. The Finance Committee, as defined in the Merger Agreement, will review the dues structure and explore ways to transition all dues payers to the International required percentage dues structure.

ARTICLE 13 Finances
(a) As of January 1, 2025, for any members not already on the 1.5% dues percentage method, the regular dues of the membership of this Local Union shall be as follows: Weekly Gross (overtime excluded) times 52 equals Annual Gross Wages times 1.25% equals by 12 months equals Monthly Dues.
(b)As of July 1, 2025, the regular dues of the membership of this Local Union shall be as follows: Weekly Gross (overtime excluded) times 52 equals Annual Gross Wages times 1.5% equals by 12 months equals Monthly Dues.

THE 2024 HOWARD COUGHLIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The 2024 Howard Coughlin Memorial Scholarship
has been awarded to a Local 792 member's son.
Troy Ruetz, son of Toledo Edison Member Brad Ruetz
has been chosen as the recipient.
Troy attended Sylvania Southview High School and graduated in 2024.
Troy is attending Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.
