Music Composition Class

Instructor: Christiaan Clark

A Note from Christiaan:

Hey everyone,

I am so sorry that we were unable to complete our time together in music composition class, but as you all know things are very crazy right now. I looked forward to your wonderfully insightful questions every week and regret that we left many topics unfinished. Obviously boredom might set in now as we isolate for the time being, so please do not hesitate to email me if you have any "unanswered questions" that are still on your mind! Stay healthy, stay safe, and please stay in touch.

Best regards,

Christiaan

From Christiaan:

"Hey everyone, sorry I could not make it to class today but I will see you all next week! You are still in very good hands, as your instructor today will actually be Leonard Bernstein of West Side Story and Candide fame, circa 1973. I have always loved this lecture - Bernstein does his best to try and make sense of the complicated aspect of music, especially harmony, in this lecture. You'll probably notice how I like to talk about many of the same things with my own spin on it. You do not need to complete the listed assignment for next week. Instead, I would like a brief paragraph (emailed to me )about your impressions and thoughts of this lecture - it is a fairly pivotal moment in music academia. Till next week, I hope you enjoy Leonard Bernstein!"
