Throughout the unit, we used daily journal entries that we called "logbooks," an emoji exit ticket and 2 digital class quizzes during the unit. The journal met two purposes--providing multiple chances for low-stakes writing within the discipline of mathematics and helping students create a way to see how their learning progressed over the course of the unit. In addition, using an emoji exit ticket was a simple way to look into how students felt about their learning so far. Lastly, the digital class quizzes helped us quickly check for previous knowledge as well as for understanding after lesson instruction. Moreover, the quizzes also provide instant feedback to students.
