Call for the Special Track : Enhancing Online Safety and Wellbeing through AI: The Power of NLP and LLMs

In an era where digital interactions are ubiquitous, the quest for a safer online environment is paramount. Our special track, "Enhancing Online Safety and Wellbeing through AI: The Power of NLP and LLMs," seeks to unravel the transformative capabilities of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in creating a secure and nurturing digital world. With a spotlight on Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs), this track invites pioneering research and applications aimed at bolstering online safety and user wellbeing.

Scope of Submissions:

While we encourage submissions that align with the following themes, we welcome and consider all innovative research that intersects AI with online safety and wellbeing.

User Experience and Safety: Submissions should focus on AI's role, especially NLP and LLMs, in refining user experience and safety, emphasizing personalization and user-centered designs.

Detection and Mitigation of Online Harassment: We welcome studies on how NLP and LLMs can identify and counteract online harassment, providing real-time solutions and support systems.

Mental Health Support: Papers should explore AI's capacity in offering online mental health support, detecting distress signals, and facilitating timely interventions.

Misinformation and Fact-Checking: Research on utilizing LLMs for debunking misinformation and bolstering fact-checking endeavors is encouraged, aiming to elevate online information reliability.

Digital Literacy and Education: Contributions should focus on AI-powered educational initiatives that boost digital literacy, safe online practices, and critical digital engagement.

Ethical AI Use: We seek insights into the ethical deployment of AI in online safety, addressing transparency, accountability, and bias reduction in AI systems.

Content Moderation: Submissions should detail AI-enhanced content moderation strategies using NLP to grasp context, nuances, and cultural elements, ensuring respectful online interactions.

Privacy and Data Security: Research on AI's role in augmenting privacy and data security, safeguarding user data while enhancing safety measures, is sought.

AI in Cyberbullying Prevention: Papers on AI-driven methodologies for detecting and thwarting cyberbullying, offering proactive aid to victims, are welcome.

Empowering Vulnerable Populations: We encourage submissions on AI tools designed to protect and empower online vulnerable groups, ensuring equitable safety resource access.

AI and Emergency Response: Contributions should discuss AI's integration with emergency response systems to swiftly address online threats, providing instant user support.

Community Building and Support: Studies on AI's utility in fostering positive community interactions and resilience against online risks are invited.

Regulatory and Policy Considerations: We welcome analyses on how regulations and policies influence AI's application in online safety, advocating a balanced approach that respects user freedoms while ensuring digital security.
