Depends on fleet size mostly, if you are in a bigger fleet and have logistics ships, fit buffer. If you are a smaller gang or solo with no logi, active tank. Buffer tanks for shields can work for smaller fleets though, especially for ships with high passive shield recharge.

Also, some ships get bonuses to different tank types. Ships with Armor HP Bonuses (like the Augorer Navy) are almost always buffer fit, and ships with armor rep bonuses (like the Incursus) are almost always rep fit. Ships with resist bonuses (like the Punisher) can be used with either type very well (although the Punisher is usually buffer for other reasons).

If your ships lasts X/N seconds after you go into armor, your active tank gave you as much HP as the plate. But you spent a lot of cap just running the damn thing and cap can be used to do things like EWAR, scramble, or even just position yourself better.

3x/n is complete nonsense. It all depends on scaling. Maybe you have a huge active tank that is way bigger than a reasonable buffer (Vagabond, Hyperion) or vice versa (Coercer Navy Issue, Augorer Navy Issue). It also depends on your resists. An active Sacrilege, for example, is probably a better all around brawler in the average situation than an active Muninn.

You also have to consider bait tanking. When you buffer fit, you have no options for HP deception (outside of hull tanking). If you have an XLASB cruiser, for example, and are being kited by a Slicer for example, you can heat your hardener until they get through shield, turn it off (to save cap) and pelt them with Barrage, Scorch, Rails, or Heavy Missiles (or your light drones) while they go through your armor and into hull. They are more likely to go in for a desperate kill if they see you low, even if you would kill them in a more extended fight.

It also depends on rig slots. A ship with tight fitting might want to go active because it uses far less CPU and grid. Also, buffer tanks really shine when all three rig slots (or both on T2 ships) are used for more buffer.

Depending on the available fitting room, different tanks might outperform even in a suboptimal role because of other benefits to the fit, such as better propulsion, better tackle, bigger guns, etc.

A faction MSE uses 26 PG and 28 CPU (or vice versa), whereas a MASB uses 12 PG and 50 CPU. They give similar EHP amounts. Fitting a MSE instead of a MASB could allow for upgraded webs, tackle, damage control, and damage mods. Choosing the MASB could allow for upgraded guns, propulsion mods, or tank (if you had to use a MAPC for a low otherwise).

The ingame fitting tool is great, you get a rough EHP and are told your HP/s from your active tank. That being said I was more curious about my EHP per damage type and my EHP/s that my active tank gives me. I made this Sheet that calculates both. Better helping me see how the holes in my resistance really affect me and where my tank shines. Being that the EHP/s is also calculated per damage type I can also see how my active tank can match up for every damage type. I include an average and worst/best case Colum for quick referencing .

Oil Storage Tank Search: This free service allows anyone to search the Department's database of registered oil storage tanks and to obtain registration certificates. This database includes all underground tanks that have been registered with DEP since 1986 (including tanks that have been removed) and aboveground tanks that have either been permitted by the State Fire Marshall's Office since 2005 or are registered with DEP.

TankSmart Operator Training and Certification: This service allows operators of registered oil storage tank facilities in Maine to get certified as Class A/B operators. There are two ways to do this. You may train and get certified for each facility separately using the registration numbers for each facility or you may train and certify as a general operator which will qualify you as a Class A/B operator for any facility.

Petroleum Delivery Driver Training and Certification: This program is designed to provide information regarding the proper delivery of home heating fuel, gasoline and other petroleum products to both aboveground tanks and underground tanks. Training topics include identifying overfill prevention devices, tank configurations, delivery process, and safety measures. The training is not a substitute for any DOT or other regulatory agency mandatory training; it is supplemental only.

Storage Tank Facility Registration provides registration assistance to storage tank owners and operators; general information to the public regarding facility, tank, owner data; and technical and data management support to district and contracted local program staff.

Pursuant to Section 376.3077, F.S. The placard shall be displayed in plain view in the office, kiosk, or at another suitable location at the facility where the storage tank system is located.

Unless a valid registration placard is displayed in plain view as required by paragraph 62-761.400(4)(f), F.A.C., no motor fuel may be deposited into a storage tank required to be registered pursuant to this rule. Facility owners, operators, and suppliers are each responsible for compliance with this provision. For the purposes of this rule, motor fuels mean petroleum products, including petroleum products blended with biofuels, used for the operation of a motor or engine.

im not sure yet, i saw a paint called house of color on one of those custom tank art web pages and i think i might give it a try..as for technique,,?????? what do you mean by technique???? if this is technique, im going to spray on some spray mask, then draw out a demon on the top ingulfed in flames much like that metalica album cover( i forget the name of the album). and still debating what to do on the sides of it..im realy not sure what technique is. i just always thaught it was a kind of style one may paint in.

I would not use spray adhesive, I would use transfer tape. You can buy clear transfer tape from your local vinyl sign shop or you can order it on-line. Ordering it online requires to purchase an entire log. It is probably better to get it locally to begin with. Call a few place and get their prices. All of them stock transfer tape, not all stock clear. As you have learned with autobody shops, not everyone is easy to work with and willing to help but most of them are.
