Our school was born out of the need to support girls and boys who mostly live in dangerous areas of our region. Our main focus is to impart life principles and values that will serve them for healthy development; We use soccer as a means to connect with children and youth in order to have a positive influence on their lives. Over these years of operating as a school, we have realized that there are many children with real talents and skills in soccer, which is why our dream is to be a fundamental support for their optimal development as potential professional soccer players.
Our most prominent social work is the monthly distribution of over 10 tons of food to families at social risk, especially children and the elderly. To date, we have distributed more than 300 tons in cities such as Santiago, Valparaíso, Rancagua, and Concepción. This food is distributed in communal kitchens for families, homeless individuals, and children's homes. Our goal is to ensure at least one daily meal for every child and family we support.
Since 2008, Casa Belén has hosted numerous families from all over Chile who need accommodation to receive medical treatments at the Regional Hospital of Rancagua. We specialize in providing comprehensive support to these families, including lodging, meals, and emotional support. This service is completely free, and we dream of improving our facilities with the acquisition of a van to facilitate transportation from the house to the hospital and the bus terminal, thus providing a more comfortable space for their rest.
Established in 2021, VAMOS represents over a decade of unwavering dedication to social service within our community, reaching out to those who need it most. Our journey began in 2009 when a group of compassionate individuals noticed the challenges faced by children and adolescents in the Rancagua Market. Amidst the hustle and bustle, the first sparks of a profound love for our neighbors emerged, fueling the creation of our organization.
Over the years, we have recognized the vital importance of addressing the basic needs of our community members. We provide not just food and shelter, but also understanding, emotional support, and hope. Every action we take is driven by a genuine desire to alleviate suffering and foster an environment where every individual feels valued and cared for. This narrative is a testament to our journey, driven by love in every endeavor.
In our early days, we began by offering breakfasts and snacks to the poorest residents of Rancagua in the René Schneider and Manuel Rodríguez neighborhoods, as well as the Padre Hurtado community. Each meal was served with deep love and empathy, nourishing both the bodies and hearts of our neighbors.
As our commitment grew, so did our activities. Recognizing that love should be the cornerstone of every action, we expanded our services to include school tutoring, manual workshops, a football school, and guitar lessons. These initiatives were carried out with the same spirit of love and dedication, providing opportunities for learning and personal growth while offering genuine support. They laid the groundwork for our current outreach and community support initiatives, which are consistently guided by the needs of our community.
With the official approval of our NGO in 2021, we strengthened our organizational structure, ensuring more effective and sustainable outreach to those in need. Our determination remains steadfast as we continue dedicating our energies to improving the quality of life for the most vulnerable. Our vision is illuminated by the promise of a more just and equitable world, guided by love in every action we take.
