煎茶道 黄檗売茶流 福徳 霜雪
"One World Sencha" is to engage in activities that connect cultures, people, and nature with a cup of tea.
About Ōbaku Baisa-ryu
Ōbaku Baisa-ryu is the Senchadō (The way of Sencha) school which inherits the spirit of the tea master Baisaō and the manner of Ōbaku Zen tradition.
The tea service (o-temae) embodies our philosophy; “To cherish each other's hearts through that tea in enjoying a cup of tea more deliciously and joyfully”.
The table-and-chair installation is designed to allow all participants to relax and enjoy themselves, regardless of nationality or cultural background.
Since establishing, we have worked to promote and develop the senchadō both domestically and internationally.
Savor golden drops of green tea
In Senchadō, leaf-shaped tea leaves such as gyokuro or sencha are used. The utensils used are also familiar items like small teapots and tea cups.
Ōbaku Baisa-ryu tea procedures (O-temae) guide you to naturally scale the proper water temperature, tea and water amount, and time to infuse in order to extract a golden drop with full of umami.
You can enjoy the variety of tea in the most delicious way for each season: iced gyokuro in summer, heart warming sencha in winter, Ōbukucha for the new year’s celebration.
“Kata” is the form of living
In senchadō lesson, we practice “Kata” repeatedly.
Kata is the form how we conduct tea procedures, it’s not only for making tea but also expressing our sense of beauty.
Even if each Kata has been done in a short time, it has the meaning of "Harmony", "Morality" and "Love".
The more we practice, the more we cultivate ourselves with an aesthetic sensibility.
We eventually find our own way to live more beautifully.
