Q: I'm having trouble coming up with a way to integrate this lesson with my curriculum?
A: Follow #oneSTEMchi for inspiration on how teachers are implementing the lesson in their own classrooms. Also, be sure you look at the ideas posted in the Google Groups below.
Q: I can't see all the rows in the Registration Response Google Sheet that I was sent in an email. What gives?
A: One of the columns is being filtered. Find which column is being filtered, click on the icon, and then click "Select All" to see all the responses.
Q: Can I take pictures of my students?
A: Check to make sure that you have social media consent forms for your students. If you are unsure if a student has a form on file, you can use pictures of the back of their heads or "tiny hands" photos where all you see is their hands working on the project.
Q: What technology will I need for the lesson?
A: For Day 1 you will need a projector and speakers if you are showing the videos. For Day 2 you will need a laptop or tablet with a front facing camera. Speakers and projectors are also a good idea to make sure that everyone in your class can see and hear the students in the partner classroom.
Q: The videos won't play. What should I do?
A: The videos are hosted on YouTube so you will need to log in here with your credentials to access the videos.
Q: I teach five classes. Can I connect all my classes with partnering classrooms?
A: Of course! You can decide to link with the same educator for multiple periods or choose a different educator for each period.
Q: Why is my tweet not showing up on the homepage?
A: The #oneSTEMchi archive is updated every hour. Check back later and your tweet will be posted.
