Effective date: July 27, 2026
OneQ is built so that this policy can be short.
Everything you write in OneQ stays on your device. Your answers, moods, photos, streaks and settings are stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. They are never uploaded, synced, shared, analyzed or seen by us — we have no servers and no way to access them. We collect nothing about you, ever.
No account. OneQ never asks who you are.
Your journal is never used for anything. Not for advertising, not for analytics, not for anything else. It is not readable by us, by our advertising partner, or by anyone but you.
Photos. Attaching a photo uses Apple's system photo picker, which hands OneQ only the single image you choose. OneQ never gains access to your photo library.
Notifications. The optional daily reminder is scheduled locally on your device. Nothing about it leaves your phone.
Purchases. OneQ Plus is processed entirely by Apple. We receive no personal information about you from a purchase.
Deletion. Deleting an entry deletes it and its photo from your device. Deleting the app deletes everything.
Your journal is protected by your device's own encryption and is included in your device backups (iCloud or local) under Apple's standard backup protections, which you control in iOS Settings.
The free version of OneQ shows ads in two places — one card in the Journal timeline and one banner on the Insights screen. OneQ Plus removes them permanently.
Those ads are served by Google AdMob, which is the one third-party SDK in the app. To serve them, Google receives standard advertising information from your device: an advertising identifier, general device and app data, coarse location derived from your IP address, and whether you interacted with an ad. Google processes this as an independent controller under its own policies:
Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
How Google uses information from apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Two things worth being explicit about:
Google never receives your journal. Your questions, answers, moods and photos are not sent anywhere, are not readable by the ads SDK, and play no part in what ad you see.
You control personalization. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, OneQ shows Google's consent form before any ad loads, and you can reopen your choices any time from Settings → Ad privacy choices. Everywhere, iOS asks separately for permission to track; declining means ads are non-personalized, and nothing else in the app changes.
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at this same address with a new effective date.
