If you want premium in-ear sound with seamless switching for your daily commute and office calls, choose OnePlus Buds 4; if you need marathon battery life, over-ear comfort for long shifts, and deep noise isolation, choose QCY H3S. These two devices solve different problems for the modern worker, and picking the wrong one means ending up with a headset that fights against your schedule rather than supporting it.
• OnePlus Buds 4: Delivers studio-grade audio via LHDC 5.0 and features an adaptive ANC system that intelligently switches modes, but offers only 24 hours of total playtime compared to its competitor. Best for professionals who prioritize audio fidelity and compact portability.
• QCY H3S: Boasts an incredible 102-hour battery life and superior 56dB hybrid noise cancellation with dual drivers, though its over-ear design is bulkier and heavier. Best for remote workers or travelers who need all-day power and maximum distraction blocking.
• The Verdict: Choose the OnePlus Buds 4 for a sleek, high-fidelity experience in a small package; choose the QCY H3S if you need a workhorse that lasts weeks between charges and provides physical comfort for extended wear.
The OnePlus Buds 4 are designed for the person who values sonic precision and convenience above all else. At the heart of these earbuds lies an 11mm dynamic driver paired with Hi-Res Audio certification and support for the LHDC 5.0 codec. This combination ensures that when you listen to music, podcasts, or conference calls, you are hearing a balanced, true-to-life acoustic profile that captures subtle details often lost in standard compression. The impedance sits at 18 ohms with a frequency response ranging from 40 Hz to 20,000 Hz, delivering a wide spectrum of sound that feels immersive without being overwhelming. For anyone using touch control open ear headphones for office tasks where clarity is paramount, this setup offers a distinct advantage.
The active noise cancellation (ANC) on these buds is described as "industry-leading" in terms of processing speed, featuring an adaptive mode that automatically toggles between noise cancellation and transparency modes. This is not just a manual switch; the intelligent system reacts to your environment, which is crucial for the fluctuating acoustics of an office setting or a busy street. You can move from a quiet meeting room to a noisy hallway without fumbling for buttons, and the device handles the transition smoothly. The Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity ensures a stable wireless connection with a range of up to 33 feet, making it perfect for walking around while taking calls or streaming video content without lag.

However, the trade-off for this level of audio engineering and smart adaptability is the battery capacity. While the case holds a 530mAh charge providing over 24 hours of total playback, this is significantly less than what the QCY H3S offers. If you are someone who forgets to charge their devices every night or goes on week-long trips without access to a charger, the OnePlus Buds 4 might require more frequent attention. Additionally, the weight is listed at 49 grams for the entire set, making them incredibly light and nearly invisible in the ear, but they are in-ear models that some users find less comfortable for wearing eight hours straight compared to over-ear alternatives. They are ideal for the professional who needs a sophisticated tool that fits in a pocket and delivers top-tier sound quality for short to medium bursts of listening throughout the day.
The QCY H3S is built for the endurance athlete of the audio world, specifically targeting users who spend long hours immersed in digital environments. These over-ear headphones feature a robust 56dB advanced hybrid active noise cancelling system, which is notably higher than typical consumer standards. Whether you are sitting in a bustling open-plan office or commuting on a train, the dual-driver system—a 40mm mid-bass driver paired with a dedicated 13mm tweeter—ensures that you get powerful bass and crisp highs without the ambient noise bleeding in. The frequency response spans from 40Hz to 20,000Hz, and the inclusion of LDAC support means you can stream high-resolution audio wirelessly, preserving the integrity of the original recording.
Comfort is a central pillar of the QCY H3S design. With protein leather earcups and an adjustable headband, the weight of 244 grams is distributed evenly to eliminate pressure points. This makes them excellent comfortable headphones for office use where you might wear them for six or eight hours continuously. The ear cushions are breathable, preventing heat buildup, and the swiveling, fold-flat design makes them surprisingly portable despite their size. The battery life is the standout feature here, offering an epic 102 hours of playtime on a single charge. For a user who works remotely or travels frequently, this means you could go weeks without needing to plug in the Type-C cable. When you do need a quick top-up, a mere 10-minute charge grants you seven hours of listening time, eliminating the anxiety of a dead battery during a critical work session.
Connectivity is another area where the QCY H3S shines for the multitasker. It supports Bluetooth 6.0 with a stable range of 10 meters and features multi-point connection, allowing you to seamlessly switch between your laptop and phone simultaneously. The seven integrated microphone arrays, six of which utilize active noise cancellation, ensure your voice is captured clearly during hands-free calls, even in noisy environments. While the button controls are less intuitive than touch sensors for some, they are precise and easy to operate with gloves or while driving. This product is for the person who prioritizes longevity, deep isolation, and the ability to connect multiple devices without interruption. If you need true wireless earbuds for office scenarios where you need to be completely disconnected from the chaos around you, these over-ear cans provide the physical barrier and sonic depth that smaller earbuds simply cannot match.
• Best for Battery Life → QCY H3S: With 102 hours of playback versus 24 hours, the QCY H3S wins decisively for those who hate charging cables.
• Best for Audio Fidelity → OnePlus Buds 4: The LHDC 5.0 codec and 11mm driver offer a more refined, studio-grade listening experience for audiophiles.
• Best for Office Comfort → QCY H3S: The over-ear design with protein leather cushions is superior for all-day wear without ear fatigue.
• Best for Portability → OnePlus Buds 4: Weighing only 49g and fitting in a small case, they are far easier to carry in a shirt pocket or small bag.
• Best for Noise Cancellation → QCY H3S: The 56dB hybrid ANC provides deeper, more aggressive silence than the adaptive ANC on the OnePlus.
• Best for Multi-Device Use → QCY H3S: The native multi-point connection allows instant switching between a laptop and smartphone without re-pairing.
• Best for Call Clarity → QCY H3S: The seven-microphone array system is engineered specifically for clear voice pickup in loud settings.
• Best for Modern Connectivity → OnePlus Buds 4: Bluetooth 5.4 offers a slightly wider range (33 feet) compared to the 10-meter limit of the QCY H3S.
I would personally buy the QCY H3S for my own office setup. The sheer utility of 102 hours of battery life removes the constant mental load of checking charge levels, and the 56dB noise cancellation creates a sanctuary of focus that I value more than the marginal gain in audio resolution. While the OnePlus Buds 4 are technically impressive with their LHDC support and lightweight design, the physical comfort and endurance of the QCY H3S make it the more practical choice for serious work. In my opinion, having a pair of headphones that you can wear for a full workday without adjusting or worrying about power is the ultimate luxury.
Both handle calls well, but the QCY H3S uses a seven-microphone array with active noise cancellation for each mic, which generally provides clearer voice isolation in noisy offices compared to the single-mic setup typical of earbuds like the OnePlus Buds 4.
The QCY H3S offers 102 hours of playtime, whereas the OnePlus Buds 4 provide 24 hours total with the case. The QCY H3S will last roughly four times longer before needing a recharge.
At 244 grams, the QCY H3S is heavier than most earbuds, but the design distributes weight evenly across the head with soft protein leather cushions to prevent pressure points during extended office sessions.
Yes, the Bluetooth 5.4 connection supports low latency for gaming and video, though the QCY H3S has a dedicated Gaming Mode that reduces audio delay to 0.06 milliseconds for a more synchronized experience.
