I took a look at the onenote-md-exporter. It looks straight forward, and I downloaded the files, and prerequisite software. Problem is, the instructions mention a OneNoteMdExporter.exe that I can't find anywhere.

Any ideas, or am I misunderstanding something?

I recently moved old journal entries from OneNote for Windows 10 to Joplin. I wrote a python script to do it and put some directions in there for how-to: GitHub - Ben-Gillman/onenote_to_markdown: Script to convert MS Onenote notebooks to Joplin

The description of my problem is a bit long, and I hope you understand all the configurations/problems. PLEASE HELP! I hate it that dropbox has no real integration of onenote, I love both but they don't work together. And now with a new laptop I really have a problem.

I just got a new laptop and I use dropbox (this is obligatory, as I have a subscription that I pay for). With my last pc I had onenote-notes in a dropbox folder, so that they were safe in the cloud. Path like c://user/name/dropbox/onenote/name_notebook. And I have used onenote for ages and have A LOT of data in about 10 notebooks. I use it all the time, I need it on my new laptop!!!

If I can't transfer/copy the onenote notebooks to onedrive please advise how I transfer them onto the new laptop in/with dropbox - I don't get the structure. I know that I can change the path and that I can export but the export. But when I export one notebook into onepkg-file and I click on it on the new pc nothing happens (can't be read, search for app, nothing).

I was struggling with the very issue the OP mentioned, but I didn't want to subscribe to something like TextExpander. Just wanted a simple .exe program I could run with a custom-mapped shortcut (I use quicktextpaste), so that after copying the link from my OneNote page, I would hit my shortcut key combo and the nifty program would run in the background and convert it to markdown. Finally did it in Visual Basic via Visual Studio, and compiled. Mapped my Alt-C key combo to run the .exe file. I am not a coder, so don't judge. The code probably needs an error handler in case it's run without the proper onenote link in the clipboard, but I've reached the end of my abilities on this.

I am just trying to use the Append to Onenote Journal and I have the following issue. I have connected drafts and onenote succesfully but sometimes it creares a new page for every new entry or some other time add the text in the same day page. Can you please assist on this. The idea is to have all drafts of the same day on one page (of that date).

Yes, pasting to word and then into Anki does work. This is definitely strange though, because I have been copy text from onenote and pasting it into Anki this whole semester without it pasting as an image. Not sure, where I need to go from here then.

I was able to upload the onenote files onto the box only when they arrived there then they became a file of nothing. My company is trying to use the box to upload onenote files to the box.com so that people from all over can open those onenote files from anywhere with no problem. I did notice that it really did not like .one file format and I was wondering if onenote was compatable in anyway since I have synced onenote files onto box and tried to get them off and it came back out unreadable.

Just wanted to confirm you haven't seen conflict errors with this? It seems like this would be ripe for having conflicts, especially since OneDrive doesn't let you save the 'full onenote' file locally, it only saves a stub file on the local computer.
