Find (or start) a local mutual aid network

Mutual aid networks connect people locally to give and get concrete and immediate support. Coordinators set up some way for people to make their needs known and to connect with people who can fill those needs (see example here). This can include everything from trading child care to sharing transportation to turning a patch of front lawn into a community vegetable garden.

Mutual aid is not charity, with its associated stigma and power dynamics, but rather a community where people feel like they are valued and have something to contribute as well as receiving support with what they need.
