Connect with someone who makes you feel energized
Who in your life do you feel better after talking to? For this action, avoid people who reinforce your sense of anxiety, feel hopeless themselves, or are prone to minimizing your feelings. Instead, find someone who helps you feel energized and hopeful.
If you want, you can talk to someone about your fears. This may be a friend, a loved one, a therapist, a religious leader... anyone who is good at listening non-judgmentally and connecting on a human level. Or you can find someone whose company you simply enjoy and who leaves you feeling happy. Alternatively, you might also choose to catch up on life with someone you haven't talked to in a long time. The boost from establishing a "new" connection can be quite significant. The point is to activate your social brain and connect with another person.
Once you feel safe and connected, you're ready to go back to the main menu and explore the other options for engaging in activism.
