Just on a basic level, the script is somehow long, drags, fails to develop any of its themes, has multiple scenes that are utterly pointless (and long), and doesn't even cover its events well. It manages to have characters that have nothing to do with each other, spend great deals of time with them, fails to round them out. It has stray elements thrown into the soup that are, overall, nonsensical. Why do we have a narrator pop up every once in a while? Why is Sharon Tate such a cypher, with the movie obsessed with having her watch herself on screen?

Cliff also seems to have a fairly decent moral compass. When Pussycat offers to suck his dick while he's giving her a lift, Cliff refuses and asks her how old she is. Pussycat replies that he's the first person to ask her that in a long time and, despite her continuing affection as they arrive at Spahn Ranch, Cliff keeps Pussycat at a distance, while still remaining friendly. There are plenty of people today who would taken advantage of Pussycat, and even more would've back in the late 60's, so I think Tarantino is making a point when he has Cliff turn Pussycat down. I'm not saying Cliff's a saint, he wouldn't think twice about defending himself if you mess with him, see the film's climax, but he doesn't seem like the sort of person who enjoys causing pain or using people, even though we see him in situations where he could easily do both. The character of Rick Dalton is no saint, though he's hardly a villain and I genuinely believe he doesn't think Cliff murdered his wife. He knows Cliff is tougher than himself and he's somewhat of a coward so I doubt he'd keep Cliff so close if he believed he's a killer. You could say Rick might be using Cliff but I don't think he's that sharp, especially with his drinking. Cliff also shows concern for George Spahn when he discovers the Hippies have started living on his ranch and goes to investigate, risking his own safety. It's also mentioned he's a war hero, implying he has received recognition for military duty in maybe the Korean War or Vietnam. Soldiers don't usually get that sort of recognition by being loose cannons. Plus, the dude loves his dog, how bad can he be?

Despite his chill demeanor, Cliff does reveal he has been incarcerated when he meets Tex, saying that he once spent two weeks on a chain gang in Texas. Now, I know what you're thinking, the fact Cliff has been in prison doesn't bode well when trying to defend his character, but I feel pretty confident that this time spent in prison was time he served for accidentally killing his wife. Here's what makes me believe this. Firstly, if Cliff was imprisoned for accidentally killing his wife, he would've been convicted for manslaughter, and the scene between Cliff and Bruce Lee makes it very clear that Cliff's aware of the distinction between murder and manslaughter. I believe that the harpoon gun Cliff was holding accidentally went off when his wife stepped in front of him during their argument. You may be wondering what evidence I have that this fishing trip is what landed Cliff in prison. Well, consider the fact that Cliffs wife died on a fishing trip on an outing that looks like its on an ocean rather than a lake or river (who needs a harpoon gun for freshwater fish?) Now, which US state has a coastline? Texas. I'm pretty sure Cliff and his wife were holidaying in Texas, went for a fishing trip, and while on that trip Cliff's harpoon gun accidentally went off and killed his wife. Cliff would probably have tried to have saved her, and would probably have confessed to police that it was his gun even though it was an accident. There wasn't enough evidence to convict Cliff of murder, but certainly enough for manslaughter.

Whether it's in the title, like Knives Out, or simply set up during the story, the concept of Chekhov's gun is a recurring element in film production. The idea itself is pretty simple: an object should be set up beforehand in order to establish its importance in order to have a satisfying payoff. These are the items that are hinted at, talked about, or showcased early on, so that the audience gets a great 'I knew it' moment - or sometimes, a rewatch to notice all the times that it has been referenced before the big finish.

"By the time of its release, the movie received critical acclaim, with many reviewers/influencers calling it the third-best Star Wars movie. After the whole controversy with Episodes 8 and 9, people are much more harsh towards TFA too," said Redditor Mango424. "My coworker once said that all three of them together are like one giant, very well-funded fan fiction project. Not sure they were necessary, to be honest," said user Poultrygeist74.

The movie plays with time in a wild way and fans have had to watch it more than once to understand what is going on. But it is hard to deny the spectacle, thrilling ideas, and amazing set pieces that Nolan crafts in this action-packed ride.

With this in mind, Redditors recently got together on r/movies, the largest film subreddit, to discuss which movies make the best use of flashbacks. These films use clever editing to make the flashback feel effortless, smoothly transitioning the viewer from one time to another.

There's a great flashback scene where Cliff thinks back to the time he got into a fight with Bruce Lee (Mike Moh) on a movie set and was promptly fired. It's subtle, and Tarantino pulls off the transition well, with terrific sound design to boot. "I thought the concept was executed nicely, without being distracting or tacky," said Redditor cavallom.

Cagney also excelled at dancing and musical roles, winning an Oscar for Yankee Doodle Dandy. Not for nothing, Orson Welles once described him as "maybe the greatest actor who ever appeared in front of a camera". "[Cagney was] electric to watch [and] performed in a way far ahead of the times he was working in," said user Dragava.

Like The American, sci-fi action Jupiter Ascending is extremely pleasing to the eye, but equal parts disappointing (even though some people actually consider it to be one of the best space movies of the 21st century). According to users on the platform, it is definitely among the most monotonous flicks of all time. "I have a party once a week where we watch bad movies for fun," slin25 commented. "This is the only movie that's been voted to be turned off while we were watching it."

"Audience reaction during the movie was more boisterous than normal. Credits start to roll, and everyone was on their feet clapping and cheering. It was just a wholesome moment in time," said Redditor Dorcusdoesreddit.

The line graph, that Reddit user TrustLittleBrother says was their creation, was initially posted in the dataisbeautiful subreddit in 2019 and racked up more than 26,200 upvotes at the time of writing. e24fc04721
