On-call is a job management app designed for doctors working on-call shifts. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your data.
The short version: all data stays on your device. We collect nothing.
On-call is an independent app developed by Dr Mohsin Sadiq.
For any privacy-related queries, contact: mohsinsadiq987@gmail.com
We collect no personal data.
On-call does not collect, transmit, store, or share any data with the developer or any third party. There are no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no external servers involved in the operation of this app.
All data you enter into the app — including job details, ward information, patient initials, hospital numbers, and clinical notes — is stored locally on your device only, using Apple's SwiftData framework.
This data:
Never leaves your device
Is not backed up to any external server operated by the developer
May be included in iCloud backups if you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device — this is controlled entirely by your own device settings and Apple's iCloud service, and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
On-call is designed to assist with clinical job management during on-call shifts. You are responsible for ensuring that any patient information entered into the app complies with your organisation's data protection policies and applicable law, including UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
We recommend:
Using patient initials rather than full names
Using hospital numbers rather than full identifiers
Clearing shift data at the end of each shift using the End Shift & Clear All function
On-call uses Face ID (or device passcode as a fallback) to protect access to the app. Biometric data is handled entirely by Apple's LocalAuthentication framework and iOS.
The developer has no access to any biometric data at any point.
On-call may send local notifications to alert you when job timers expire. These notifications are generated entirely on-device and are not transmitted to any external service or server.
On-call offers an optional in-app purchase ("Buy me a coffee") processed entirely through Apple's StoreKit framework. The developer receives payment confirmation via Apple but does not receive any personal or financial information such as card details or billing addresses.
Apple's privacy policy governs all purchase transactions: apple.com/legal/privacy
On-call does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking services. No data is shared with any third party.
On-call is intended for use by qualified healthcare professionals and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that raises privacy concerns, please contact us at the address below.
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times:
Use End Shift & Clear All within the app to delete all job data at the end of a shift
Note that shift data is automatically cleared after 24 hours
Delete the app from your device to remove all associated local data entirely
Under UK GDPR, you have rights including the right to access, rectification, restriction of processing, and erasure of your personal data. Since the developer holds no personal data about you, these rights apply to data stored locally on your own device, which you control entirely.
For any questions about exercising your rights, contact us at the address below.
If this Privacy Policy changes, the updated version will be made available at the same URL and the "Last updated" date at the top of this document will be revised. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
