From previous dog care of various breeds, I can tell you there's dogs, then there's Dobermans. When you're outside with the Doberman, they love to be at your side and in your vicinity. They are easy to recall and while many will have a greyhound-like urge to take off running, they always run back.
Dobermans like to be warm. While they like their fair share of the sun too, they also enjoy air conditioning on hot summer days. They lack a thick coat of fur and under coat to help them in extreme weather. When you take them to exercise you'll need to remember this if you're outside for a couple hours and they aren't exercising and able to get to shade for a time out.
Even with their short fur coat, they do shed. Daily exercise, regular grooming (at least monthly), and ensuring or supplementing Omega 3 in their diet helps. Daily exercise will help their coat keep a shine. You may need to do more/less grooming and supplementation depending on where you reside, humidity level etc. This will also help with their skin.
With all of the above said, you will still likely have some weekly cleaning to do but this will help.
European Dobermans are larger, more muscular, and excel at being working dogs. They are sought after for their easy-going, loving attitude at home with the ability to quickly shift to protect their people.
