As the host of On The Shoulders, it is my honor to welcome you! You can call me Birdie, and I am here to fly alongside you as you stand on the shoulders of giants. This popular phrase was coined by Sir Isaac Newton as he discussed his discoveries, and much like him, we believe that it is possible to look further by standing on the shoulders of those who have come before us, who are greater than we are now.
While giants often have the connotation of being monstrous, large beings content with their destructive nature, that shall not be the case for us. Giants for us, are our BFGs, our bookish farsighted giants.
We encourage learning and understanding above all.
We believe in the ability of humans to be good and kind, while recognizing that good and kind things do not always happen.
We hope you leave our adventure with more knowledge than when you arrived.
With 10 episodes a season, On The Shoulders plans to take on a new concept each time. By investigating concepts you may have only heard in passing, or never, we want to open you up to a new world.
