Omni Render is a browser extension for local content formatting, rendering, and file organization.
Content we access
Omni Render processes text you type or paste, files you import, and files in a local workspace folder you explicitly select. When you invoke its context-menu command, it processes your selected text or extracts the current page's readable content as Markdown. Captured content may include the page title and source URL.
When automatic rendering is enabled, the extension reads text on top-level pages you open to detect raw JSON or Markdown documents and displays matching documents in its workbench. You can disable automatic rendering in settings. Access to file URL pages additionally requires permission in the browser's extension settings.
Omni Render does not read the browser's browsing-history database or track unrelated browsing activity, keystrokes, or clicks.
Local processing and storage
Formatting, rendering, and history search run locally on your device. The extension does not upload your documents to the developer or an analytics service.
Local browser storage holds preferences, interface state, history settings, saved document content and metadata, and temporary transfers to the workbench. History metadata may include source titles and URLs, file names, timestamps, content size, previews, and hashes used to detect duplicates. Workspace folder handles are stored locally; file access and changes are subject to the browser's permissions and your actions.
The unlimitedStorage permission supports documents and history that exceed the browser's standard local storage quota. You can configure history entry and size limits, delete individual entries, and clear history. You can also clear extension data through browser settings or uninstall the extension.
Network requests and links
Documents may contain remote images. Previewing or exporting such documents can request those images from their hosts. Those hosts receive the ordinary network information associated with the request, such as your IP address and requested resource URL, under their own privacy policies. Opening a document link navigates to that website. These requests do not upload the document as a whole to the developer.
Permissions
Context-menu and scripting permissions support user-invoked capture and configurable automatic rendering. Host permissions allow these features on HTTP, HTTPS, and permitted file URL pages. While automatic rendering is enabled, a narrowly scoped network rule adjusts the Content-Security-Policy response header for top-level raw.githubusercontent.com documents so the packaged script can render raw Markdown locally. The rule is removed when automatic rendering is disabled.
Remote code
All executable JavaScript and WebAssembly is packaged with the extension. Omni Render does not load or execute remotely hosted code. Remote document images are treated as image data.
Data use and sharing
The developer does not receive, sell, or share your documents or local history. Data is used only for the extension's content formatting, rendering, file organization, and related local history features. It is not used for advertising, analytics, creditworthiness, or lending. The external resource requests described above are limited to displaying document resources or following links.
