Otters are found on the coasts of Asia, the Pacific Ocean, and North America.
They are of the Mustelid family, along with badgers, ferrets, weasels, wolverines and other mammals, males weigh and average of 49-99lbs and females 31-73lbs making them the heaviest in their family.
Most Otters are semi aquatic, but Sea Otters in particular live almost exclusively in water, feeding on fish and crustaceans by breaking them open with rocks. This also includes sea urchins, which makes them incredibly important to the ecosystem by protecting the kelp, as sea urchins commonly overpopulate and could potentially destroy the balance of the ecosystem.
