In my research I have contributed to the development of three large-scale databases.
Swedish inventors. The first important initiative concerns inventors. This initiative was started already in 2010 with a project for the Swedish agency for Growth Policy Analysis (Tillväxtanalys) and resulted in a report Ejermo (2011 in Swedish) published here and here. An updated version was produced in January 2015. Jung and Ejermo (2014) is a paper which analyses trends and characteristics of Swedish inventors over time based on this material. Lina Ahlin was extremely helpful as research assistant at the time, for the construction of this database. Many of my published papers use this material and it was also used for the dissertations of Jing Xiao and Yannu Zheng who I supervised.
Publications by Academic Researchers in Sweden - PARIS. This database was a joint effort mainly with Cindy Gomez Alder and John Källström at CIRCLE. The database covers publications as covered by Scopus for an estimated 90% of Swedish academic researchers in the period 1996-2012. Ejermo et al. (2016) discusses the methods behind the construction of the database in a technical report, which you can find here. John Källström who I supervised utilized this database for his PhD project.
Factory owners. This initiative is part of a larger initiative to examine Swedish returnees from the Age of mass migration. As part of this project, factory owners (fabriksägare) from factory censuses 1863-1900, managers (föreståndare) and leasers (arrendatorer) have been linked to population censuses from 1880, 1890, 1900 and 1910. Almost 10,000 unique owners from the period have been linked. TBC
