Welcome! My work is centered around empirical work in innovation and science drawing from perspectives in innovation economics and the economics of science. A driving force behind my work in the last decade has been to add novel data on innovation (inventor data) and scientists (publication data) to Swedish registers to analyze questions pertaining to who innovates and who publishes. Using these data, I have analyzed questions related tot the organization of the scientific system, such as the role of invention ownership in academia and research time for academic researchers, and that of the labor market in terms of migration and mobility for scientists and inventors. I am also interested in historical aspects of migration and have studied the success of returnees from the age of mass migration using historical censuses.
