Founding and Vision

The journey of Olivet University began in 2000 with the establishment of the Olivet Theological College & Seminary (OTCS). Its purpose was to train men and women for Christian missions and ministry, offering quality theological education and accessible distance learning programs to students worldwide. OTCS quickly became known as a global hub for ministry preparation, serving believers eager to deepen their understanding of Scripture while putting their faith into practice.

In 2004, under the leadership of the late Dr. Ralph D. Winter, OTCS evolved into Olivet University. This transformation marked the expansion of its academic and spiritual mission to create a “sanctuary of truth” where biblical faith, scholarly study, and real-world service could come together. Dr. Winter’s vision for Olivet was clear: to educate students who would not only think critically but also live faithfully, leading lives that reflect Christ’s teachings in every sphere of influence.
