I am a professor of social work at the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH) in Switzerland. My research focuses on social inequality, poverty, and the welfare state.
My work combines empirical social research with a strong interest in the use of administrative data (e.g. tax data) and digital methods for social science. I am particularly interested in how new data sources and analytical tools can improve our understanding of inequality and support evidence-based policy making.
In addition, I work on improving the communication of scientific results to the public, especially through data visualization.
