Developed during a residency in Porto, Colour Wheel Obsession is a live audio-visual performance exploring the relationship between colour, memory and sound. Using a sampler and live instrumentation, my collaborator Alvin Bartley & I performed instrumental compositions structured in chromatic order, accompanied by a montage of colour-sequenced footage from our travels as well as stop-motion animation. 

As the spectrum shifts, tempo and tonal register rise in response to the physics of light wavelengths - drawing loosely on synesthetic experiments such as those of Alexander Scriabin. The work becomes a speculative translation between vibration and recollection, where hue dissolves into harmony.
