JTAG (named after the Joint Test Action Group which codified it) is an industry standard for verifying designs and testing printed circuit boards post-manufacturing. Various manufactured systems, like the launch model Xbox 360, and even most Sky boxes, have JTAG pinouts/headers. It can be used to modify and flash custom firmware on devices.

Prepare the items listed above, make sure your Digibox has JTAG pinouts and is compatible.
Download this flashing tool, originally developed by Pace Micro Technology, a former manufacturer of set-top boxes, on your PC with the parallel port.
Open up your box's case by unscrewing the screws where ever they are (every box is different). You'll need to get to the JTAG pinouts; they are located on the motherboard (the location depends on the model).
Solder your JTAG equipment onto the pinouts. Connect the JTAG wires to the parallel port on your PC and open the flash program. Make sure you have your modified EPG software dumped and ready.
