Panasonic were one of the first major manufacturers of Sky Digiboxes. Their first box was the TU-DSB20, released in 1998. Panasonic stopped manufacturing Sky units in 2000. Panasonic boxes are one of the best quality Sky units available, with excellent performance, and build quality. Issues with Panasonic units depends on the model, but the TU-DSB30 is flawless.
Pace was the first major manufacturer of Sky Digiboxes. Their first box was the BSKYB2200, released in 1998 at the launch of Sky Digital. Pace stopped manufacturing Sky units in 2010. Pace boxes are widely regarded as one of the best quality Sky units available, with excellent performance and build quality. Issues with Pace units are rare. Note: Firmware versions Sky+4.20.a, 5.07.u and 5.08.6 are in the collection for 3100 boxes.

Grundig were one of the first major manufacturers of Sky Digiboxes. Their first box was the GDS200, released in 1998. Grundig stopped manufacturing Sky units in 2000 and handed over their production line to Thomson in 2003.Grundig boxes have a bad reputation for having faulty tuners, slow EPGs due to having the same CPU as the Pace BSKYB2200 (TP3).
Amstrad were one of the first major manufacturers of Sky Digiboxes. Their first box was the DRX100, released in 1998.The manufacturing quality of the Amstrad units has significantly improved over the years, especially once Sky purchased the set top box division of Amstrad in 2007.

Thomson manufactured Sky+ & Sky+HD units in the mid-to-late 2000s before Sky purchased Amstrad. Their first box was the DSI8210 Sky+ unit. There have been no known common issues with Thomson units and are very good quality. The DSI8210 was the most common Sky+ unit and had the most memorable design.

HDSKY (2008-2010)
Samsung were one of the first manufacturers of Sky+HD boxes, joining the gang in 2008. They only made one model of box; the HDSKY. They made these models from 2008 until 2011.
