... On certain sunny Saturdays in Lagos Nigeria, the annual Jollof Festival brings families, friends, and strangers together at Tafawa Balewa Square, celebrating life with this beloved dish. Among the crowd is Chidinma, a young cook whose stall, “Chi’s Jollof,” always draws eager customers. Her secret recipe, a perfect blend of tomatoes, peppers, onions, and spices, reflects her grandmother's wisdom: “To make Jollof, you must jollof,” meaning to live life to the fullest. As the sun sets, Chidinma's nearly empty pot symbolizes the joy and community spirit alive in Lagos. The Jollof Festival is a vibrant celebration of culture and the Nigerian way of life.
