My work focuses on generating real-world evidence to help answer a fundamental question in healthcare: Are medical treatments delivering real value for patients and the healthcare systems that serve them in everyday practice?
As a health outcomes researcher specializing in pharmacoepidemiology, I use large-scale real-world datasets, including administrative claims and population-based registries, to evaluate the clinical, economic, and population health impact of medical treatments. Through advanced analytic methods, I examine treatment effectiveness, healthcare utilization, and the policy and system-level factors that influence patient outcomes.
My path into this field was shaped by experiences that gave me a front-row seat to healthcare challenges across very different settings. I began my career as a pharmacist, where I developed a deep appreciation for how treatments affect patients at the individual level. That foundation led me to global health, where I contributed to large-scale public health programs addressing malaria, HIV, and tuberculosis. Working on these initiatives revealed the critical gap between available treatments and real-world patient outcomes, which motivated me to pursue doctoral training in the United States to develop the research skills needed to help close that gap.
Since then, I have had the opportunity to work across both academic and industry settings, contributing to research in therapeutic areas such as oncology and substance use disorder. Whether leading a study or collaborating with cross-functional teams, my focus remains consistent: generating rigorous, actionable evidence that supports clinical decision-making, informs health policy, and ultimately improves patient access to effective therapies.
I am grateful that my work has been recognized through several awards, including Best Presentation Awards at the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), the Southern Pharmacy Administration Conference, and the Clinical and Translational Science Symposium, as well as the Johnson and Johnson Scholars of Oncology Diversity Engagement Program (SODEP) Award and the PHOP Graduate Excellence in Research Award.
I value working in collaborative environments grounded in teamwork, accountability, integrity, and excellence, because meaningful progress in healthcare is always a team effort.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time on the golf course and exploring new destinations through travel. Experiencing new places often brings a fresh perspective, both personally and professionally.
