After completing the MindTools “How Good Are Your Listening Skills?” test, I found that my listening abilities are generally effective, although there are still moments when I miss certain points or need information repeated to fully understand it. When I compared this with my earlier reflection on observation skills, I noticed that I tend to observe non-verbal cues more easily than I process spoken messages. I am usually able to stay attentive and maintain eye contact, but I sometimes get distracted or focus too much on my own thoughts while someone is talking. My strengths include noticing body language and staying engaged, while I still need to work on asking clarifying questions, managing distractions, and listening without interrupting. Overall, improving these areas will help strengthen my communication skills.
