If you want a long battery life bluetooth headset for switch that offers an open, airy soundstage with retro wood aesthetics, choose okcsc M1; if you need the best bluetooth earbuds for switch equivalent in wired form with deep bass and crisp detail from a hybrid driver setup, choose FiiO JH13.
• okcsc M1: The biggest strength is its spacious, natural sound achieved through Sapele wood shells and semi-open design, but it trades off isolation since it leaks sound and lacks noise cancellation.
• FiiO JH13: The standout feature is its powerful hybrid driver configuration delivering intense bass and detailed highs, though the trade-off is the in-ear fit which may not suit everyone compared to on-ear styles.
• Who it's for: The M1 fits listeners who prioritize comfort and room-filling audio for stationary use, while the JH13 targets audiophiles seeking portable precision and high-fidelity separation.
The okcsc M1 Pro is built for the listener who treats their headphones as a piece of furniture rather than just a tool. Its defining characteristic is the use of Sapele wood for the shell, a material choice that does more than look vintage; it fundamentally shapes the acoustics. The description notes that this wood creates a "lingering and spacious" sound quality, making difficult-to-reproduce bass ranges clear and expressive without sounding muddy. If you are someone who sits down with a controller or a keyboard and wants to feel like you are inside the music rather than just hearing it, this is the device for you. The 40mm dynamic drivers paired with the wooden enclosure produce a stereo experience that feels wide and immersive.
Comfort is another pillar of the M1's design philosophy. Weighing in at around 200 grams, it is light enough to wear for extended sessions without placing strain on your ears. The ear pads utilize thick sponge, and the headband is wrapped in high-quality PU leather, ensuring a snug yet gentle seal. This makes it an excellent candidate for marathon gaming sessions or long listening periods where physical fatigue is a concern. The on-ear design leaves your ears slightly exposed, which prevents the buildup of heat often associated with fully enclosed over-ear models, though it does mean you cannot block out the world around you.

However, the M1 is strictly a wired experience. It connects via a standard 3.5mm jack, with a 6.35mm adapter included for desktop setups. There is no wireless capability here, so you must be tethered to your source. If you are looking for a truly wireless solution for the Nintendo Switch or similar handhelds, this will not work unless you have a specific dongle or cable adapter. Furthermore, because it is an open-back design, there is zero noise control. You will hear the outside world, and anyone near you will hear what you are playing. This product is for the home listener, not the commuter.
The FiiO JH13 enters the conversation as a serious contender for those who demand technical performance in a compact package. Unlike the M1, this is an in-ear monitor designed to isolate you from distractions while delivering high-fidelity audio. The core of its appeal lies in its hybrid triple-driver configuration, combining one 10mm dynamic driver with two custom balanced armature drivers. This setup allows the JH13 to handle different frequency ranges with specialized components, resulting in deep, powerful bass from the dynamic unit and crystal-clear treble from the armatures. For a gamer or music lover who needs to hear every footstep in a competitive title or every nuance in a complex orchestral track, this level of separation is invaluable.
Build quality and materials play a significant role in the JH13's value proposition. The faceplate is crafted from zebra wood, offering a unique, handcrafted aesthetic where every pair has a distinct grain pattern. This isn't just for looks; the design is inspired by FiiO's high-end FT3 model, utilizing a dual magnetic circuit to increase magnetic density. This engineering achievement results in a sensitivity of 110 dB/mW, meaning these earphones are easily driven by smartphones or portable DACs without needing a massive power source. They are ready to perform right out of the box, revealing clean percussion and vivid instrument separation thanks to the Japan-made CCAW voice coil.
The ergonomic over-ear fit is designed for secure wearing with reduced microphonics, ensuring that the cable rubbing against your clothes doesn't interfere with your audio. The detachable 0.78mm 2-pin cable system adds longevity to the product, allowing you to upgrade the cable later if you desire different tonal characteristics. However, the in-ear form factor is a commitment. If you prefer the feeling of air circulation or find in-ear monitors uncomfortable after an hour, the JH13 might not be the right path. It is a closed system designed for immersion and isolation, making it ideal for travel, noisy environments, or situations where you need to keep the volume up without disturbing others.
• Best for battery life → Neither option requires charging as both are wired, but the JH13 draws less power due to high efficiency, making it perfect for battery-powered portable devices like the Switch OLED.
• Best for open, spacious sound → The okcsc M1 wins here with its semi-open back design and Sapele wood resonance creating a wider soundstage.
• Best for bass impact and detail → The FiiO JH13 takes the lead with its hybrid driver setup and dual magnetic circuit for punchy lows and sparkling highs.
• Best for long gaming sessions (comfort) → The okcsc M1 is superior for those who dislike pressure on the ear canal, thanks to its plush on-ear pads and lightweight build.
• Best for isolation and focus → The FiiO JH13 is the clear choice for blocking out ambient noise and focusing entirely on the audio mix.
• Best for portability → The FiiO JH13 is significantly smaller and easier to carry in a pocket, whereas the M1 requires its included storage case for safe transport.
• Best for customization → Both offer detachable cables, but the JH13 uses the industry-standard 0.78mm 2-pin connector, offering a wider ecosystem of upgrade cables compared to the M1's proprietary connection.
• Best for desktop listening → The okcsc M1 includes a 6.35mm adapter, making it plug-and-play for high-end desktop amplifiers and DACs.
After weighing the specifications and intended use cases, I would personally choose the FiiO JH13 for my primary setup when using a handheld console like the Switch. While the okcsc M1 is undeniably beautiful and comfortable, the FiiO JH13 offers a more versatile listening experience for a mobile user. The hybrid driver configuration provides the clarity and bass response needed for modern game soundtracks, and the isolation allows me to enjoy the audio without cranking the volume in public spaces. The zebra wood finish also adds a touch of premium style that matches the tech aesthetic I prefer. Ultimately, if you are buying the best headset for switch to take with you on the go, the JH13's combination of performance, portability, and driver technology makes it the smarter investment for serious audio enthusiasts.
Both options work well with the Switch via a 3.5mm jack, but the FiiO JH13 is better for mobility and isolating game audio, while the okcsc M1 is better for stationary home gaming setups where soundstage matters more than isolation.
No, both units are designed to be efficient; the FiiO JH13 boasts high sensitivity for easy driving by phones, and the okcsc M1 works fine with standard outputs, though an amp can unlock the full potential of the M1's dynamic range.
The okcsc M1 uses Sapele wood to create a natural, lingering sound with a spacious feel, while the FiiO JH13 uses zebra wood for a refined aesthetic and structural integrity that supports its precise hybrid driver tuning.
Yes, both products feature detachable cables; the okcsc M1 comes with a 3.5mm cable and a 6.35mm adapter, while the FiiO JH13 uses a standard 0.78mm 2-pin connector that allows for easy future upgrades.
