Using a soil sampler probe, we collected 2-4 inches of topsoil from four different sample sites under restoration at the Madrona Marsh Nature Preserve. Each location featured a unique habitat type, including coastal prairie, upland prairie, vernal pools, and marsh wetland.

For comparative analysis, soil samples from the trail path adjacent to each of the four sampled sites were collected and tested.
