After the proposed parish merger was set to go ahead, Caitlin Devine decided to launch a petition to reach the wider Clydebank community. She did so with Our Holy Redeemer’s firmly in her heart, wanting to ensure that its future was given proper consideration.
Following the incredible response to the petition, work has begun to take the next steps forward. Local people have started coming forward to offer support, skills, and encouragement, and a community-led plan for sustainability and renewal has now been drafted.
We are very much in the early stages of this journey. There will be tweaks, changes, and learning along the way — but this is only the beginning, and more will follow in the months ahead.
We have also been contacted by community leaders, and conversations are now taking place with the Clydebank Post and an MSP, helping to ensure that the voices of parishioners and the wider community are being heard.
Thank you to everyone who has signed the petition, shared it, and sent messages of support. Your encouragement has meant more than you know 🤍
