What is Ohmterra?

Inspired by thrash metal, guttural electronic music, and the undying will to be better, Ohmterra strives for effort, and perfection above all else.

Ohmterra grew up in a city where hip-hop dominated the meta. Songs about violence, drugs, and sex were commonplace, and something that he heard daily. His father grew up with thrash metal bands such as Metallica, Slayer, and many more, and his mother on synthpop from the 80s. These two genres drove him to make guttural and grimy electronic tracks that reflected these two genres and music akin to Xtrullor, Rukkus, Rezz, Deathpact, and many more. 

He hopes he can continue striving for that same quality and that you are willing to join him for the ride. 

About me

You know me as Ohmterra, or Terra, but you can call me Zach if you want. I am a music artist out of southeast Wisconsin. Doing music producing has always been a dream of mine ever since I was a little boy. Listening to artist like Xtrullor, Rukkus, and a lot of heavy metal forged my style.

I didn't start making music until I was around 12 years old using a really basic DAW called Rytmik. I didn't know a lot of composition skills, and I never had the experience that some had. Eventually I switched to Garage Band, and had a field day using it, but I knew that if I wanted to expand my knowledge a little more, I would have to go bigger.

In mid 2020, I got FL Studio, and of course it wasn't great, but it was a start. Now with the inspiration I have from all of these artists that I used to listen to, I have developed my own sound.
