Fall 2019 (Nov. 8-Nov. 16): In Ohlone's original play "The Reluctant Vampire", the club helped out with ushering like we normally do and many club members helped out in roles throughout the production. Many of our club members were seen in lead roles, supporting roles, in the ensemble, and backstage. The cast and crew celebrated the successful run of their original show, which is set to go to Edinburgh, Scotland! Thank you to playwright Eugenie Chan and director Michael Navarra and the rest of the directors for bringing this production to life!
Nov. 2: The Ohlone Hilltop Gala entered its second year of running! The Guild was invited to bring together a musical show featuring the cast of "Tick, Tick, Boom!" And 6 of our performers to performed pieces from "Six: the Musical". They were the highlight of the night! From a parade, to our emcees Gillian and Erik, to our performers and helpers, to everyone setting up and take down the set, we thank everyone involved and hope to do it again next year!
Oct. 28: Pizza, Pizza!!! We gratefully gathered on a Monday evening for a fundraiser at Blaze Pizza in Pacific Commons. The cast of Ohlone's original new play "The Reluctant Vampire" and fellow Guild members all came in support of raising money for the Edinburgh trip. A big thank you to the fundraising organizers, and to everyone who made it out to Blaze Pizza!
Oct. 11: The Guild hosted an Open Mic and dance party on a Friday night, the first after many years, and it was a huge success! The dance party that followed made a joyous end to the event with the fellow attendees and organizers all joining in and dancing together! Thank you again to everyone who performed and helped make the event possible.
Aug. 29-30: Shortly after the success of "The Phantom of the Opera", the Guild hosted the premiere of Jonathon Larson's "Tick, Tick... Boom!" directed by the Guild's former president Dylan Seeley. Ushering for the show and roles throughout the production were covered by us, featuring VP Gillian Bong as Costume Director, Sec. Kayla Strand as backstage deck crew, and more!
Summer 2019: Ohlone and Stage 1 teamed up to produce the Phantom of the Opera for Ohlone's Summerfest. The club helped out with ushering like we normally do and many club members helped out in roles throughout the production. President Dylan Seeley was assistant director, Vice President Gillian Bong was a wardrobe assistant and most other members helped in the ensemble or backstage. This show was recognized by TBA (Theatre Bay Area) as a "Recommended Summer Show".
On April 17th, the Entertainment Arts Guild hosted it's first ever workshop, one about opening up on stage and being able to connect with other people. The process of this was called the comfort play, that Dylan Seeley learned in Eugene, Oregon as a part of the KCACTF Region 7 Festival. It was a success with everyone who participated enjoying the experience. Look for it next year!
For the last two years the Guild has helped out with the Music at the Mission charity event, providing some decor and setting up the area along with striking it down after the event. On 4/12 this year we helped raise money with them again!
On Monday 4/8 we had a fundraiser with Chipotle on Mowry! We had a large showing of people and made 227$ dollars for the Edinburgh Trip! Thanks to all who came out!
Our Ohlone Theatre and Dance staff and some of our Guild's leadership discussed fundraising ideas, opportunities, and events for the upcoming year.
After Facebook's conference at GDC in San Francisco in 2019, they had to get rid of their display set. Instead of having it dumped, they decided to donate it to Ohlone! The Guild and Our Theatre Staff helped unload 4 trucks of panels, Plexiglas, structures, and brand new lights! We're excited to see how we as a department and club use them!
Event on 3/23/19

This event was the main focus for student run projects this semester. Promoting the fall show Wendy and Peter Pan we decided to host a party in the theme of it. We had food, drinks, music and a dramatic fight between Peter Pan and a group of pirates

Starting in Fall 2017, Ohlone began an annual Gala to raise money for the school with the construction. The Guild has helped set-up and strike down the event while also helping run the silent auction both years. We are the only club to assist in the events history.
