Scheduling

The parties below will be scheduled when the county moves to a lower risk tier and expands guidance for safe private gathering sizes.
Payment will not be collected until a firm date is set and you confirm that you can come.

Starting March 10, 5pm you will be able to sign up to secure your priority spot on the interest list. When a date is set, hosts will reach out to guests on the list in order of signup.

Raya and the Last Dragon Outdoor Movie Night

Pokémon Fitness Challenge!

We've booked a private session of this hit Outschool class for Ohlone friends. The classes have 152 5-star reviews. Base knowledge of Pokémon not required.

LEVEL I (20 minutes):

Get ready to move and use your imagination as we prepare our Pokémon for battle! In this class, students will choose pokemon and following the exercise move that their Pokemon requires. Let's bend, stretch, jog, do push-ups, crunches and much more popular workout moves as we get our Pokeballs ready to catch em all!

Break

In between training moves, we will pause for a much-needed water break and talk about Pokémon.

LEVEL II (20 minutes):

Welcome back, Pokémon Trainer! Get ready to move and use your imagination as we search for and identify Pokémon! In this class, students test their Pokémon knowledge while working out. Participants will see an outline of a Pokémon on the screen, guess the Pokémon name, and then do the exercise move that the Pokémon requires.

African Dance Workshop

Learn the soulful and intricate dances of West Africa in this 60-minute dynamic workshop that will make you feel welcome and build confidence.

Class begins with a warm-up that is designed to improve flexibility, strengthen the core, improve stamina, and get acquainted with West African music.

The second part of the class starts with a brief history and context of the dances (that will inform your execution of the movements) and continues with an extensive breakdown of technique. This is going to be a blast of an event!

Chocolate Tasting and Bean-to-bar Lesson

Ahead of the event, you will get a delivery to your home - an assortment of dark, milk, and flavored artisanal chocolate bars, along with some information about each, and a Zoom link. We'll get a lesson from a chocolate aficionado (Sunita de Tourreil, former owner of The Chocolate Garage) on how cacao beans grow and are harvested, and how they become chocolate bars. She will walk us through a tasting of the various bars and suggest popular alcoholic and non-alcoholic pairings.

Considerations

  • The tasting party will be 90 minutes on a Thursday evening.

  • If, by May, we are in a tier that allows us to meet in a socially distanced way in a backyard, we will consider that. But if all party attendees aren't comfortable with that, we'll gladly stay on Zoom.
