Join our naturalist for a hike to search for some of these seasonal wonders, to discuss their ecological importance, and to just enjoy a leisurely walk with friends. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about nature’s short-lived treasures before they disappear for another year!
Location: Nelson Ledges State Park (Meet in the parking lot to begin the hike.)

Mosquito Lake Park Cleanup Day 🌿

Help us get Mosquito Lake State Park ready for an amazing season of outdoor fun! Join us and make a difference by helping clean up the park. Whether you can stay the whole time or just stop by for a bit, every little effort helps! We’ll assign you a section of the park to clean, and once you’re finished, please return the pickers so we can reuse them for future cleanup days. Bring a friend, bring your family, and help us keep Mosquito Lake beautiful for everyone to enjoy!

Join Friends of Mosquito Lake members and local birders Amanda and Matt Sloan with our naturalist for a guided hike along the lake on the Lakeview Recreation Trail. Explore the sights and sounds of the season as you look and listen for a variety of bird species that call the area home. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced birder, this is a great opportunity to enjoy nature, sharpen your birding skills, and learn from fellow bird enthusiasts.

Cleveland Museum of Natural History Family Day: Waves of Wonder

Join our naturalist at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. This fun, family-friendly event celebrates the wonders of water, science, and nature through hands-on activities, interactive exhibits, and engaging experiences for all ages. Stop by to connect with our naturalist from Mosquito Lake State Park and explore how Ohio’s waterways support wildlife and outdoor recreation. This special event is co-sponsored by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Don’t miss a great day of learning, exploration, and family fun!

Fishing poles and bait will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own equipment if preferred. All ages welcome! Participants age 16 and older must have a valid Ohio fishing license. Licenses can be purchased at the Mosquito Lake Marina and Boat Rental prior to the program.
