PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: This program is extremely weather dependent, check the park Facebook page prior to coming the day of the program for cancellation. NO open-toed shoes and kids must be accompanied by an adult. Waivers will be available on site or can be brought with you.

Bats, Moths & Moonlight: Creating a Bat-Friendly Native Garden

Join our naturalist for an engaging program exploring how native plants support caterpillars, moths, and other nighttime insects that serve as an important food source for Ohio's bats. Learn how to design a beautiful native garden that benefits wildlife, reduces pests naturally, and transforms your backyard into a thriving nighttime habitat. Whether you're starting a new garden or enhancing an existing landscape, you'll leave with practical ideas and plant recommendations to help support both pollinators and bats right at home.

Stars, Strips and Bingo Night at Mosquito Lake State Park!!!

Looking for some family-friendly fun? Join the Friends of Mosquito Lake State Park for an evening of Bingo, laughter, and prizes on Saturday. Bring your family, friends, and a little luck as we play multiple rounds of bingo with fun prizes awarded throughout the evening. Whether you're a bingo veteran or trying it for the first time, this is a great way to relax, meet fellow campers and park visitors, and enjoy a weekend at the lake.

Campground Movie Night

Something mysterious is stirring after dark at Mosquito Lake State Park! As part of our Nocturnal Wildlife Weekend, join us under the stars for a special movie night featuring a film that celebrates the creatures of the night. We'll keep the title a secret for now, but families can expect an adventure filled with nighttime wildlife, excitement, and plenty of fun. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, snacks, and a sense of curiosity as we gather at the amphitheater for an unforgettable evening. The movie will begin at dusk, and the secret will be revealed just before showtime. Don't forget your drinks—the popcorn is on us! Thanks to the Friends of Mosquito Lake State Park, everyone can enjoy complimentary popcorn during the movie. After all, some things are better discovered after dark! The Bat Buffet: Mothing Night at Mosquito Lake State Park

What’s on the menu for Ohio’s bats? Moths, moths, and more moths! Join our naturalist for The Bat Buffet: Mothing Night at Mosquito Lake State Park and discover the fascinating connection between moths and the nocturnal wildlife that depends on them. Using light sheets and sugar bait stations, participants will have the opportunity to observe moths and other nighttime insects up close while learning how these incredible creatures are attracted, identified, and studied. From tiny geometers to giant silk moths, every species plays an important role in the nighttime ecosystem. Along the way, you'll learn how moths serve as important pollinators and provide a vital food source for bats and other nocturnal animals. You never know what beautiful, bizarre, or rare species might make an appearance during this late-night adventure. Participants are encouraged to bring a flashlight or headlamp (red light preferred), bug spray, and a sense of curiosity as we explore the hidden world that comes alive after dark.

Join the naturalist for our Golden Buckeye Walkers meet-up! This easy-paced, social walk is designed for adults 60+ who enjoy the outdoors, fresh air, and friendly conversation. We'll explore different areas of the park each week while taking in the beauty of nature together.
Location: Campground Overflow Parking Lot
Please be aware March weather can be unpredictable, dress in layers and wear good sturdy boots. There will be no areas for bathroom breaks along the way or water fill up areas.

Friends of Mosquito Lake Park Flea Market & Craft Show
9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Join us for the Friends of Mosquito Lake Park Flea Market & Craft Show on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Beach Area and In The Woods at Mosquito Lake. Come spend the day shopping local vendors, enjoying food trucks, and taking advantage of improved parking with free shuttle service available. Rain or shine, this is always a fun summer event and a great way to support the Friends of Mosquito Lake. Vendor spaces are available, with reservations requested by July 11, 2026.
Location: Mosquito Lake State Park Beach Area (Overflow parking for this event will be in the overflow lot for the boat docks and a shuttle will bring you over to the flea market.)

7th Friends of Mosquito Lake Beach Bash
5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
FREE concert by local favorite SPEED LIMIT. Food Trucks will be on hand to complete the experience. Bring lawn chairs and get ready to relax as the sun goes down on the lake. Bring money for the 50/50!!! It supports other fun programs at the lake. Interested in being part of this event as a band or entertainment?
