These Terms of Service aren’t legally binding.
Putting them out there is intended to make our process as client and artist as
clear and productive as possible. By continuing with the commissions form, you confirm that you have read and agree to honor the terms outlined here.
Thanks as always for your interest!
PAYMENTS
All project payments will be handled via PayPal. CashApp and Ko-Fi are workable alternatives if PayPal is an absolute no-go for the client. We'll discuss the method of payment during the initial stages of your project. I do not accept E-Checks.
The client will be informed of the initial price estimate for their project before any work begins. The project invoice will be delivered after a clean sketch for the project is agreed upon. I accept both full and partial payments. At least half of the final estimated price must be paid before I continue with the project's sketch.
I only accept payments in USD.
REFUNDS
The client's happiness and satisfaction is always my priority when working on creative projects, but sometimes things just don't pan out. In the event that my client wishes to cancel or withdraw their project from my desk, a refund offer will be made. The amount of payment to be refunded will depend on how far along we are in the project's process, as I still expect to be compensated for work completed and time spent.
Ownership of the project content will also be discussed. An additional withdrawal fee will be applied to cancellations in which the client wishes to keep high-resolution sketches and partial works. If the client does not wish to keep the completed work, I will reserve it for my own use as bases for future projects.
REVISIONS
Revisions are NOT offered on Sketchpage Projects.
I offer up to three major revisions at no cost during the sketching stage of the project. I will offer free alterations for things I've missed that were clearly stated in the original project pitch, but if these details were not included in your pitch an additional charge will be incurred.
Once a clean sketch is agreed upon, further revisions will incur fees. Be advised that revisions made to projects in later stages of production will likely require an extended project timeline to account for corrections.
To avoid late-stage alterations to a project, I ask that all clients please have detailed plans for their projects lined up before filing their forms. When I connect with a client to discuss the project in further detail, I'll ask for color palettes as well as all relevant image references of the character(s) to be drawn.
COMMERCIAL USE
All commissions purchased from me are for non-commercial use.
My work, once completed, is intended for the clients own non-profitable personal use; such as printing for display in your place, use for icons or website beautification, and posting to your personal accounts.
As the working artist on these projects, I retain the right to use any completed artwork for my own marketing and posting to my socials. Clients will be credited. Clients will always be asked for their permission if I plan to post their projects up on my Patreon.
No artwork completed by me is to be resold or artistically altered by the client. Cropping and resizing is fine!
No artwork completed by me is to be minted by the client. Do. Not. Use My Art. For NFTs.
MY PROCESS
Once the content and direction is agreed upon, the project will continue as follows:
Initial Sketch: I will provide the client with a very rough initial sketch that is intended to communicate the proportion and composition of the project's image. This is not the time to nitpick minor details such as hairstyle, accessories, or clothing; this is the time for general vibes. Does it look balanced? Does posing and sizing look correct?
Finalized Sketch: Based on references provided, a clearer sketch will be drawn. Corrections will be made based on client's feedback.
Linework: Once a sketch is finalized, lining will begin.
Flat Coloring: Basic colors will be added to the project. Corrections will be made based on client's feedback.
Rendering: Lighting and shading will be applied per client specification.
SLOTS
Commission slots can only be claimed through filing one of these forms. I reserve the right to decline any pitches sent by clients, and every client will be informed of my refusal as soon as possible.
Slots are limited! I'll only be accepting 3 to 5 projects at a time to maximize my speed and proficiency. Announcements will go up on my socials when I open up for more projects and when I close down to work. I'll happily share commission rates and other relevant information with anyone who wishes to contact me in the interim. Please do not pitch projects to me outside of the filing process, this is intended to streamline my workflow so I don't lose track of anyone.
PROJECT CAN DO'S AND MIGHT DO'S
I am available for SFW and NSFW projects. Clients can feel free to inquire privately as to the kinds of content I'm willing to draw.
I'm extremely flexible with character concepts. I do humans, aliens, anthros, ferals, monsters, and amorphous horrors of all sorts. I can do weapons and armor (medieval and sci-fi), fashionable clothing, and most kinds of extraneous props. The complexity of character designs, such as additional limbs, embellished clothing, or complicated markings, may be subject to additional fees.
I'm less experienced with complex background settings, but I learn through trial and error and I will take on projects that fit my skill-level in order to build up my abilities.
At this time, I will be staying away from vehicles for the most part... but do ask.
Characters you wish to have drawn must belong to you. If you wish to have art made of a character that does not belong to you, I will require the independent contacts of the person who does own that character so I can confirm that they consented to the project being pitched. If contacts cannot be provided in this context, I will refuse the project. I do my own research on clients I agree to work with; please do not try to pass off someone else's character as your own!
I do not do long-term, or long-format projects. If you're unsure if your project qualifies, feel free to ask!
I don't usually take projects for franchise characters or fanart, but ask me!
COMMUNICATION & PROJECT SCHEDULES
I prefer to work with clients over Discord. It's the fastest method, in my experience, and allows for good file sharing too. You will find me at NoCleanSpoons#8205. Ask about other means of contact if Discord is not an option for you.
I have a demanding work schedule offline. As a result, I prefer to work at my own pace rather than work under a scheduled completion date. If you feel a scheduled completion date is essential to your project, we'll discuss during the initial project planning. I like to try negotiations as often as I can. Generally I'll need 2 weeks to complete a clean sketch.
I work hard to keep my clients updated on the progress of their projects. Maintaining social contacts will be essential to every client's awareness of their own project, please check our lines of communication regularly. Failure to respond to correspondence within 5 days will result in the push-back of your project to make space for other clients. Failure to respond to correspondence after 2 weeks will result in the cancellation of your project, with refunds issued at my own discretion.
DESIGN CONSULTATION
I'm experienced in designing characters, settings, and props from the ground-up. If you're looking to get my help in building a design from scratch, I'm always excited to help. "Consultations" in this context will include a step-by-step design process during which I will get your input to help direct development at each stage of work.
Due to the bespoke nature of design consultations; each project is totally unique, so there's no set pricing for these projects. But do come and talk with me, we'll figure out what will work best for your budget and design needs.
PROJECT PRICING & NEGOTIATION
My rates for commissioned projects are determined based on the time and effort it will take to reach your ideal finalized piece. Original estimates for final pricing are always subject to change throughout a project. My clients will always be notified of potential price changes before I commit to the work that justifies the price change, at which time we can negotiate if you do not wish to meet the new estimate price.
I believe that access to art and creative pursuits is something that everyone deserves, and so I always strive to work within my client's available budget to get them the closest to their ideal final piece as I can. If at any point the client feels as though we're going over-budget on a project, I want them to feel free to bring it up with me in our communications. I am always willing to discuss and negotiate pricing so that we both get what we need from the transaction. However, this does not mean that I will lower prices for the same workload, and any client looking to negotiate pricing should be aware that a lower price for a project will usually mean a trimming down of the final piece.
I ask that you please respect the prices I have posted for my work. I offer a range of project types so that everyone can get something nice done for themselves without spending their rent money.
I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE ALTERATIONS TO THIS DOCUMENT AND MY COMMISSIONS FORM WITHOUT NOTICE.
