TELLING THE FUTURE THE STORIES OF OGDEN
TELLING THE FUTURE THE STORIES OF OGDEN
The Ogden Ar(t)chives Mailbox was created by Ogden City Poet Laureate, Angelika Brewer, and built by local artisan, Daniel Christensen. Placed at The Corner Plaza on February 3rd, 2023, the mailbox serves as a place for the community to share their voices through the arts they choose to submit. The submissions are archived through Ogden's Union Station, the organization responsible for Ogden specific historical records. It is open and available to the public 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The mailbox was created to ensure that the history of Ogden is written by the people of Ogden themselves. The mailbox is an anonymous and inclusive submission box, receiving hundreds of stories, art pieces, flyers, and more each month from passersby and community members. The mailbox can accommodate any medium, as long as it fits in the slot and is open to anyone who would like to submit something to it.
History is happening now. Submit to the Ogden Ar(t)chives Mailbox today to tell your stories, however you choose to tell it.
This project was made possible by the support of Ogden City, Ogden City Arts, The Corner Plaza, The Ogden Union Station and community members: Troy Brewer, Elizabeth Brewer, and Jessica Knott.
