Off Time is an Android app developed by Saiyed Adil. It calculates screen-off time and longest breaks locally on your device.

Information used on your device

With your permission, Off Time uses Android Usage Access to read screen-state timestamps. It uses those timestamps to calculate today's screen-off total and longest break. Usage Access can expose broader device activity; Off Time only uses the screen-state information needed for these calculations.

Your selected sleep schedule, appearance and widget settings are stored in the app's private storage. Sleep exclusion uses the schedule you enter; it does not detect whether you are sleeping.

No off-device collection or sharing

Off Time does not send activity or settings to the developer or a server, and does not sell or share personal data. It has no account system, advertising, analytics or internet permission. No cloud service is used for tracking. Android and your device manufacturer manage their own system usage history.

Permissions and background operation

Usage Access is optional to grant, but necessary to calculate totals. Android manages visibility of the required background-service notice.

Widgets refresh automatically while placed on the home screen. Opening Off Time recalculates totals from available usage history. Android or the launcher may delay scheduled background refresh.

While a widget is placed, a foreground service receives screen-state events and refreshes the widgets promptly. Android shows its required service notice and active-app indicator. Removing all widgets stops that service. A boot/package-update receiver restores eligible scheduling after a restart or update; Android restrictions may require reopening the app.

Retention and your choices

Saved settings remain until you change them, clear the app's storage or uninstall it. Android controls retention of its underlying usage history. You can revoke Usage Access or notifications in Android Settings at any time.

Remove all Off Time widgets to stop the foreground service. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes the app's saved local settings.

Intended audience

Off Time is a personal screen-time utility intended for teenagers aged 13 and older and adults. It is not designed specifically for young children. It does not offer social messaging, advertising or user accounts.
