Privacy Policy — BitChord
Effective date: September 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how BitChord (com.bitchord.offlineplayer) ("the App") handles information. By using the App, you agree to this policy.
Who we are
BitChord is an offline music player for Android.

Information we store on your device
The App stores the following locally on your device:
- Playlists, favorites, listening history, and search history
- Settings, including language and country code
- Audio files you import or download, and backup files you create
- Last.fm credentials, only if you choose to connect Last.fm (API key, secret, session key, and username)
The App does not require you to create an account. App data backup to Google is disabled.
Permissions
The App may request:
- Audio / storage access — to play music files already on your device. These files stay on your device.
- Internet and network state — to show ads, load optional plugin content, detect country when enabled, and scrobble to Last.fm if you connect it.
- Notifications — to show playback controls while music is playing.
- Advertising ID — to deliver and measure advertisements.
Advertising
The App shows ads (banner, interstitial, rewarded, and native) through Unity LevelPlay (ironSource), including Unity Ads and Meta Audience Network.
Advertising partners may process:
- Advertising ID
- Device information (such as device model, operating system, and language)
- Coarse location derived from IP address
- Ad interactions (impressions, clicks, and rewarded completions)
You can limit personalized ads in your device settings by resetting your advertising ID or opting out of ad personalization.
Country detection
If automatic country detection is on, the App may contact ipwho.is, api.country.is, ipapi.co, or ip-api.com to obtain a country code from your IP address. Only the country code is saved in the App. You can turn this off and select a country manually.
Last.fm
If you connect Last.fm, listening activity is sent to Last.fm under your account. This is optional. Disconnecting Last.fm stops further scrobbling. Last.fm's privacy policy governs data they receive.
Plugins
If you add a plugin or a remote plugin source, content requests are sent to servers chosen by that plugin. Those services are independent third parties. Review their policies before enabling them.
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with advertising partners, with Last.fm if you connect it, and with plugin services you choose to use.
Retention and deletion
Data stays on your device until you delete it, reset the App, or uninstall it. Uninstalling removes App data stored by BitChord. Files you saved outside the App are not deleted by uninstall.
Changes
We may update this policy. The new version will be posted with a revised effective date.
